If I really wanted to start a fuss I'd go on a rant about people who find it "fashionable" to adopt children from overseas when there are so many needy kids desparate for good homes right here! If you're rich and famous and want to help out deserving orphans in another land why not endow a trust to enable worthy, but financially challenged, couples in foreign lands to adopt their own!

Agreed that there are plenty of children in need in this country. However, not many infants which I think is why lots of folks go to other countries to adopt. I can see both sides of the issue. I do find it neat that her latest adoption got press and hope that it will encourage others considering adoption to take the surviving children of HIV infected parents into their homes.

Also, don't you think she would get him tattooed before having his nose pierced? That's the order I followed.

Here it is folks, the night before I leave and this will be my one and only post for the day/night. I’ll try to post a quickie before I leave but really the next time you hear from me, I shall be in NYC!!!!!!!

What a lovely letter from DR OzDericks family. My emotions are already on overload with happiness for the trip, nerves, and sadness at leaving Mom that it threw me into overload. I sobbed as I read it but it was a good kind of cry.

My bobbing emotions got a giggle when Ben called me “Miss Hegerty”. I’ll never forget the first time someone called me that. It doesn’t seem right somehow. “Miss Hegerty” is a grown up name and (at 48) I still don’t really feel like I belong with the adults.

Dear TCB, I wish you every broken bone wish there is so long as it brings you luck and no harm. Have a GREAT show. I just wish I could see it. I also love the new avatar.

Speaking of shows, I might want to go see Once Around The Sun, Maybe Friday night if I get back fast enough. If anyone else wants to go, let me know.

I’m glad to hear that DR Hisaka arrived safe and sound. Have a lovely time!

I have a mix of clothes. From shorts to long johns. I think I am prepared for just about anything from a heat wave to a snow storm!

I can’t say how much I’m looking forward to this coming week!

Whew! What a wonderful day for a walk! -And I really do hope the rain holds off next Wednesday. However, it "very New York" for it rain, so...

I got the route all mapped out. I think I've found enough public bathrooms along the way. I picked up cards and menus from most of the places along the way. And I even found a few more cool places to point out and/or visit!

For those DRs who will be joining me on the Eating and Walking Tour next Wednesday...

1) Wear comfortable shoes.
2) Bring an umbrella.
3) Even though we will be snacking, knoshing, grazing, eating, etc., along the way, I'd suggest having a light breakfast beforehand. -Our first actual food stop will take place about a half hour into the tour.
4) Be sure to get a good night's sleep the night before. -I'm pretty sure that you will be sleeping rather soundly after the all the walking and eating and walking.

In that matter, "things" should not tug to one's heart but one's common sense. One does not adopt a kid for oneself but the kid's needs!
But then what do i know, me, not famous, not rich and not married without children!

yes, the Kritzer tour includes all residences. Hisaka is here in the home environment. We're having a nice chat before dinner at The Smoke House. I'm showing her some interesting videos.

RE: Last night's "Will & Grace"... During the third hour of "The Today Show", they showed clips from both the East and West coast versions/broadcasts. Some of the "break ups" seemed less than spontaneous. However, they did show a line flub from the West Coast, that did not happen during the East Coast.

Back from dinner at Middfest. My favorite food vendors, serving dishes from the Philippines, were NOT there. I was counting on some skewered pork, etc. Oh well, had Bourbon chicken with rice instead. We saw many people, including some known by DR elmore who were showing off their grandbaby. I'll tell you who Monday night
