DR Jennifer:

Here's a news item from the internet about your DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES snafu the other night:

"A Canadian broadcast of Desperate Housewives falling prey to a technical snafu the other night with several scenes being dropped from the last minutes of the program while others were repeated. CTV will rebroadcast the episode Saturday night, as ABC is also doing after the show was mistakenly broadcast to 175,000 Southern California households in Spanish. "

I am quite a noid right now, but I must shake it off so I'm happy for rehearsal.  While all three of my amazon packages arrived fine, the books did not arrive, despite today being their arrival day.  The culprit?  A late train.  I'm so sick of people not doing what they say they're doing.  So, bottom line, books will be here Monday morning, and I won't be able to ship them out until Tuesday morning, still earlier than the listed ship date on the website.

Hopefully there will be no more late trains between then and now, although I do think the packages are actually in LA, just not on the truck.

Hello from Maui, kidz!

Aunt PennyO is here in her swell house (well, it's a rental, but it's MINE, nevertheless!!) up in Kula - beautiful grounds, a pool, a hottub, decks off both sides, gorgeous gardens and a view of all of Maui spread out below, and the islands off shore. Zowie! Wowie! Maui!!!

Anyway, I'm taking some time off, doing some gardening, writing a bit, singing every day (yup, brought my keyboard), feeding these amazing birds, and putting together a music program down in Wailuku. I saw a play last night by a local playwright - not so good, but some good ideas handled a bit clumsily. One really good performance, a couple of Not-Bad's, a couple of OY, Vey's, and a charismatic and scene-stealing cameo by (I kid u not) a local police officer - a giant Hawaiian with tribal tattoos and a killer dialect!!!

So, I'm reveling in the beauties of Nature at her Absolute and Perfect BEST, and wishing you all a good day, too. Oh, yeah - in my DVD player is the original D.O.A. and in the CD player is Emmylou Harris's Heartaches and Highways.

Bye, now

A few tracks from the Peter Pan collection.  But der B wasn't really in the mood for that.

Well, der B had "issues" with the album. As these things go, it was rather boring. I had problems with "I'm Flying" - this is not a listen-to-the-insightful-lyric song, this is accompanyment to a wonderful action scene- a stage filled with motion: the lyrics don't soar, the singer does! Larry tried mightily in the orchestrations to produce many audible images of movement, but it just was not enough.

DRTomovoz, the TURNING POINT DVD is yours!  I'll put it into the post ASAP.

DRBen, thanks for the link; I notice Erik had no words about rewriting Jule Styne as well.
Thank you DR ELmore.  Colin thanks you too.

That's why I've stopped preordering long in advance at Amazon. I go in on Thursday before the Tuesday release date, and almost never have a problem. Of course, sometimes things are delayed strangely, but I don't preorder things way in advance any more.

Sorry you're having these problems, DRs Ron and Tom.
Not really a problem here DR Matt. "Cinderella" was winging her way the day that should. It is a big pond to cross. I have rarely had a problem with Amazon.

~~CINDERELLA DVD VIBES~~~~~

for DR's Ron & Tomovoz

A dream is a wish your heart makes
When you're fast asleep
In dreams you lose your heartaches
Whatever you wish for, you keep

Have faith in your dreams and someday
Your rainbow will come smiling thru
No matter how your heart is grieving
If you keep on believing
The dream that you wish will come true

That DVD WILL be delivered tomorrow!!

I fear my post was too subtle!! I was concerned for Ron feelings that my copy would arrive - despite the distance etc - before his did. It is not late nor am I particularly anxious.  I "shop around" for best prices locally for most items of interest but not all DVDs are released in OZ and certainly we often have to wait months. I have found Amazon and some of the "other sellers" to be very efficient.

Thank you for the thoughts.

Re: "Cinderella" DVD

Yes, Tom is just expressing he's sorry for me.  He has NOTHING personal to be sorry about.  Except maybe a tie or two.  Maybe a particular shirt he picked out once on a trip to France.

Or those shoes he wore back in 1973.

And possibly he wondered once or twice in his life what he must have been thinking...or how much he had to drink the night before...when he woke up next to someone he couldn't remember.

:D
