I also put BATMAN BEGINS back in the player and watched the first hour of it again. If there was any confusion from the arrangement of the opening sequences jumping back and forth in time, a reviewing made everything very clear. It also provided a very clear indication of who the villain turned out to be, but I was studying other things and missed it.

The fight scenes throughout the picture were edited much too choppily. I don't know if that was done to give it some MTV zip for those with two second attention spans or whether it was done to mask poor stunt work or to hide obvious stunt doubles standing in for the stars. Whatever, it was too frantic for my taste. The climactic fight with Batman and the villain was really framed very badly. A lot seemed to be happening below the frame and thus out of sight.

I have been completely lazy tonight. I basically piled up on my bed and watched TV...and maybe napped a little, too.

After getting $400 worth of tickets to JERSEY BOYS for my parents and aunt and uncle, I mosied up to the Met to pick up five tickets for AIDA for next Saturday night. I got my employee discount - $40 for best available in the orchestra level. We got $750 worth of tickets for $200. Not a bad deal...and we're sitting Center Orchestra, Row W. Very nice...

After picking THOSE tickets up, my mom called to tell me that my aunt really wants to see MAMMA MIA!, so I got $350 worth of tickets for THAT show on Sunday night. We're in the third from the last row of the mezzanine. :-\

I'm back from seeing THE FOG.  There were a few creepy moments, but I liked the original one better.

And so, good night, all!

Gosh Larry, a person can't take you anyplace!

Oh, Mike...folks have learned to step over him by now.  New York is SO much different from every place else!

I want DR Jose to know that I dutifully snuffled a bottle of saline this evening.

It was awful.

Only one nostril cooperated.  The other one wouldn't budge.  Since the object is to shoot water up one nostril and let it come out the other, I have to tell you I swallowed quite a bit of that water when that one nostril refused to let any of it out.

Funny thing that....I could shoot water up the uncooperative nostril (that wouldn't expel any water) and it dutifully came out the other nostril.  But no way was it going to let any out.

I think I'm clogged or something.

I may need to call Roto-Rooter.

But I'm still breathing easier, albeit on one side only.  It makes me feel all lopsided, too.

I watched my tape of "Smallville" this evening.  Quite a diversion from the past few shows of the new season.

Aquaman was a nice change of pace....and James Marsters (whom I believe is "Brainiac") was interesting.  He was the one who got out of the spacecraft Lex Luthor has in one of his warehouses.  It will be interesting to see how his relationship with Clark Kent as student/teaching assistant develops.

Lex is finally, mercifully, developing into an arch fiend.

Are you still there/here, Tomovoz?

Or have you gone, leaving nothing but your name in limbo?

So.

How's the weather down there?  Is summer moving in or is it upon you?

It seems the West Coast contingent all have better things to do this evening.

I don't mind talking amongst myself, though.

I'm easily amused/diverted.

Summer is another 9 weeks away Ron.  Unsettled Spring weather . We do need the rain though.

BTW "Cinderella" was not issued here in the same pack. I guess it was decided that much of the "extra" material (Eg Cinderella stories) would not be of interest.

How lovely.  Spring.

We've had some Spring-like weather lately.  The only clue it's fall is a few dry leaves on the ground.

So the end of December is when Summer begins for you?

I have occasionally wondered what you all make of northern hemisphere Christmas imagery with snow, and everyone all bundled up and rosy-cheeked.

And "White Christmas" the movie.  And "Holiday Inn" the movie.

And, while I'm on the subject, I am eager, eager, eager to get the upcoming DVD for "Christmas in Connecticut."

Well, if I'm not mistaken, there were three separate issues here...a collectors special edition with extra stuff, like a princess' crown;  a platinum 2-DVD edition; and a single-DVD edition.

Whoops! That should have been 5 weeks not 9.
(Senior's moment).

We're still likely to have Snow scenes on Christmas cards.
It's become fashionable to celebrate "Christmas in July" here - more appropriate for traditional Christmas food.

Pity the poor guys here in December who are Department store Santas.

Did Marni Nixon dub all the voices in "White Christmas"?

I rather think you would have enjoyed some of the background stuff..."The 'Cinderella' That Almost Was" and the piece on "The Nine Old Men" and the piece on the movie, itself, and the section on the music, especially that which was not used along with footage and storyboards.  THAT was good stuff of interest to any Disney fan, I'd think!
