Anybody else watch, or planning to watch, the LIVE presidential debate on tonight's The West Wing? It was, IMHO, one unusual hour of television.

Greetings from Fairfax!

The trip back to DC's Union Station was fairly uneventful. Thankfully, the two things I needed to "dig" out of my boxes at my "old-soon-to-be-new-again" apartment did not require much digging at all. I walked in, looked in one place, pulled out the envelope in question, then looked in another place and pulled out the piece of paper in question. Easy-peasy.

And then it was back onto the A Train... It was a neat ride down to Penn Station. When the train reached Columbus Circle, a bunch of marathon runners and their friends boarded. It was very cool seeing all those people wrapped in those mylar heat "blankets". And wearing their medals for completing the marathon. And a bunch of them were also heading to Penn Station to take trains back to where they live. -Now that's a full day! Head up to NYC Saturday night, run a marathon Sunday morning, then take the train back Sunday afternoon.

There was a brief delay right outside of DC due to some unexplained engine trouble, and then due to the track work on the Metro system, there were a few long stops here and there. But I'm home, still need to unpack, and just watching some TV.

DR Joy - I learned Drinking Jenga and Dirty Jenga from some college students during a summer stock gig a few years ago. That was the only time I've played either game. Once was most certainly enough.

DR Jrand - Glad to hear that you are all right. When I read the news about the twisters in Indiana and Kentucky this morning... well... I've worked in Evansville before - that's where New Harmony Theatre is based. And one of my favorite things to do was to spend the day over in Newburgh - great shops, restaurants, scenery - right on the river. -And then head over into Kentucky to do some antique-ing. Unfortunately, I'm recognizing a bunch of the places I've been seeing on the news reports. Very sad. And horrifying.

LOL yes I did, a small hot fudge sundae at Dairy Queen. They are much stingier on the hot fudge than TCBY, so next time, it's back to TCBY

DR SWW - Does each class have to cover a different topic? I'm sure there are some culinary movements and innovations that could fill two class sessions. -And what about a hands-on class? Field trip? Tastings?

Tonight's 2-hour LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT is based on the student who disappeared earlier this year in Aruba. It's quite intense. I'm having fun.

...It really is quite the roller-coaster ride tonight. Lots of "commentary" on the media, the judicial system, family dynamics, etc. Quite engrossing.

Thanks to the commentary on the new OZ, a continuity error with Judy wearing her black leather shoes during the Tin Man discovery sequence rather than the ruby slippers was brought to my attention for the first time after all these years.

I also noticed the wire supporting the underside of the winged monkey's wings for the first time.

I watched that LAW & ORDER: CI 2 hour show as well tonight. Riveting. Loved it. And I guessed who the murderer was, too!

And Jordan Lage, who I had a very deep crush on when he was on OZ, had a few bits at the first of the show as an anal high school teacher/chaparone. Glad to see he's still finding work.

Before L&O, I watched COLD CASE, one of its lesser cases involving four brothers in the same family murdered in a neighborhood over the course of five or six years. Usually, I love the show, but this was an off night.

I also LOATHE the new hairstyle they have for their lead female detective.

During the commercial breaks during COLD CASE, I did flip over and watch some of the live debate on THE WEST WING. I caught a speech Jimmy Smits was giving about being proud of the label of liberal. He was impassioned and did very well.

Then next time I flipped over, he was giving another speech, and he was mixing up words, switching them in mid-sentence and then being tongue-tied fairly badly.
