And finally, in my DVD player (the mother load): I had a coupon from Blockbuster that I could get any four $7.99 or less used DVDs for only $12.00 total! I did and saved $20. At the same time, they were having a buy any three used DVDs for only $25. I bought three and saved another $10! I also went to Fred Meyer and bought a couple of DVDs, but they were full price, so there was no savings there.
At Fred Meyer, I got "
Oklahoma," the 50th anniversary Todd-AO/CinemaScope 2-fer and the 60th anniversary "
State Fair" with the 1962 re-make. ($19.99 each...full price
)
At Blockbuster, I got for the $12:
"
Rick" with Bill Pullman
"
Closer" with Julia Roberts, et al.
"
Big Fish[/b]" with Ewan McGregor
"
Exorcist: The Beginning," the second of TWO prequels to "The Exorcist"
From the Blockbuster "3 for $25" special, I got:
"
Dominion: Prequel to The Exorcist," the FIRST prequel that was totally scrapped and completely refilmed with a different director but same lead actor.
"
Lovers and Other Strangers[/b]" from 1970 with lots of people
"
Mad Hot Ballroom," a documentary about students in several New York City elementary schools that learn ballroom dancing and compete in a city wide dance competition. Probably the best one of the bunch.
