A lovely cake report, DR Vixmom. Bakery cakes are delicious.

I have not made DR Sandra a birthday cake in years. She prefers cheesecake, so we often go to the Cheesecake Factory for her birthday celebration.

There must be mention of it at abc.com, I've seen it written up other places too!

Good morning/afternoon. Won't be around (or even a square) today, have to concentrate on work. JR was asking for a report about the musical last night.... I enjoyed the performances. Sara Rue and French Stewart very really wonderful. The show was not my cuppa tea.

Interesting thing about dessert at my folks' yesterday.  There was a fruit-topped tart and a chocolate mousse cake, but everyone went for the fruit tart rather than the chocolate.  Highly unusual.  And for the main courses, most of us went for the tuna over the quiches and pasta (and even the cream cheese and lox was just sitting there like so much fish).

Has anyone else seen these very bizarre pics of the frat boys and the hippies from THE AMAZIN' RACE? (there are links to the pics throughout the linked article.)

I must say that my sister-in-law does make a mean tuna salad, though.

Yes!  It was shocking I had to save them to my hard drive and view them later when I recovered.  I am not recovered yet!  :o

ANIMAL LOVERS ALERT!

Quote
COCOA MULCH

Sent to us by Meagan Karnes, of Fur Crazy Pet Care.

Yesterday, one of our clients experienced a tragedy and wanted me to pass a special message along to all of my dog loving friends and family.
I was hoping you could forward this to your contact list.

My client was the doting owner of two young lab/golden retriever mixes. Over the weekend, they purchased Cocoa Mulch from Target to use in their garden. They loved the way it smelled and it was advertised to keep cats away from their garden. They set the bag in their yard.

Their dog, Calypso, decided that the mulch smelled good enough to eat so she broke into it and devoured a large helping. She vomited a few times which was typical of her when she would get into something she shouldn't have gotten in to. She was not acting lethargic in any way. The next day, Mom woke up and took Calypso out for her morning walk. Half way through the walk, she had a seizure and died instantly.

Although the mulch had NO warnings printed on the label, upon further investigation on the company's website, this product is HIGHLY toxic to dogs. Denise (Calypso's mom) wanted me to pass this information along so no one had to experience the same tragedy she went through.

In Loving Memory of Calypso.

Cocoa Mulch is manufactured by Hershey's, and they claim that "It is true that studies have shown that 50% of the dogs that eat Cocoa Mulch can suffer physical harm to a variety of degrees (depending on eachindividual dog). However, 98% of all dogs won't eat it."

Hersey's comment is not much comfort to the owners of the 1 in fifty dogs who will eat it!

Just finished boxing up four sets of Kritzer books, which I shall now go and ship.

Haven't heard exactly what time I have to be at the editing room but I hope it's soon.

I really hate when I put off writing a paper until the night before it's due. I hate it, I tell you.

And I don't even understand what it's about.

Good luck!

So it's officially BELTANE! That is the fertility/spring festival halfway between the Spring equinox and summer solstice. I think it's Celtic. That's the one where people jump over a bonfire and ring-around-the-maypole. I feel migratory - on Wednesday I'll mosey up to Washington, to the cabin. Gonna take my sweet time - 3 days instead of the usual 2. I will definitely stop by at Jane and Keith's to look at the new kitchen and all the remodeling.

Yes, PennyO, it is an ancient Celtic festival.

I hope the reading goes well tonight..

chocolate pudding (the cooked kind not the instant)

I work with a woman who told me a couple of weeks ago that she's never had cooked pudding...ever!  How can that be?  She's probably 45 years old or so and she's only had instant pudding in all of her life!  I said get some and cook some NOW!!

The flashing banner ads on that page are giving me a petite mal.

As soon as the page loads, hit the escape key and the animated .gifs will stop blinking...but wait until all the content loads, or you might not get the entire text.

I've shipped the books and am now waiting to find out when I'm supposed to go to the editing room.  In the meantime, I'm going to print out the few pages where I did line changes and I'll insert them into the scripts.

Favorite ice cream dessert is Mud Pie especially the kind made at Blue Moose in East Grand Forks... It is pure evil for the waist line but sooooo goood!!

When it comes to Ice Cream I love Chocolate in many forms especially

Kemps Moose Tracks
Kemps Rocky Road
Haagen Dazs Choco Chip cookie dough Ice cream
Bailey's Irish creme ice cream  - VERY GOOD!!

I love the chocolate chip ice cream bars.. Those are good!  Dove and Klondike are good also.

Ginny, I will have to see they sell Mocha Ice Cream up here.  I have not heard of it.
