Just how late is the new issue of SCARLET STREET?  I would swear it's got to be over two months!

Antidisestablishmentarianism

LOL! I was going to use that word.  Isn't supposed to be the longest English word or something like that?

Here are my thoughts on last night's TAR.

.
.
.

First off, here it ended at 9:45pm. And i was really confused. BUt CTV (canadian channel) must have fasttracked the commercials so it could switch to the end of American Idol.

Okay re: TAR.

I was ultimately happy with the winners. And I was very happy that the 3rd place team finished 3rd. No matter how nice they were, they really just blew so many chances. Every time the teams were equalized they just made mistake after mistake.

Also, I loved the whole Tokyo thing, and how the one hippie could speak japanese. That was awesome to watch. But i wasn't too happy that they had the hotel guy lie about having internet service.  And also they lied about seeing the sign on the roller coaster.

The one thing I was not happy about was the end and the flags. I didn't like it when they did the map for the FAMILY TAR. And I just don't think it's far to save such a mental challenge for the very end. Before the very end, fine.  But it gave the hippies such a huge advantage. I really wish that the hippies had gotten to the flags first. Then i would feel much better about things.  But the way it ended it basically felt (to me) as though the frats deserved to win, but they gave it to the hippies.

So you don't like the idea that people have to have a brain to win?

This is Gabe's favorite word, which he uses regularly to stump visitors at our house:

pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

Now you know why we have so few return visitors.  :)

I know that's what sent me running out your front door ;)

The first hour, from 8-9 is a retrospective. The second hour, from 9-10 is the actual finale.

The Suns play tonight, so I guess I'll have to read about it tomorrow. Like I really care that much. I've only seen the show a few times.

I'll be leaving work soon to go directly to my book group.  Tonight we're discussing The Jane Austen Book Club by Karen Joy Fowler.  Next month, we'll become the Jane Austen Book Club, each member reading Austen books of her choice.  I'm trying to do them in the same order as the group in Fowler's book, so right now I'm listening to Emma while driving.

Sarah Finch, an actress friend from England, was here last week to do her one-woman Jane Austen play, Yours Ever, Jane, for the Jane Austen Society.
She uses Jane Austen's letters to her sister to introduce and bookend lengthy excerpts from Pride and Prejudice in which she plays all the roles. Even though the hall where she performed was terrible, I enjoyed it immensely.

AND "Secondhand Lions" is going to be made into a musical, too!  I've never seen the movie.  Is it any good?

I love the movie SECOND HAND LIONS! I think it has great promise as a musical, Rupert Holmes is writing the book.

Thank you, thank you for all the nice wishes! I do have nephews and nieces but they never seem to remember their uncle's birthday!
You know, I just don't feel one year older!
It's now officially my birthday date since it's almost 1:00 am here and we're May 19!
Oh feel free to send greetings again today if you wish! LOL!
Yes, i'm that vain!

Rachel, Anna's daughter is really cool too! We thrilled ourselves by visiting a fancy place on the Champs Elysées, the VUITTON store!
They have security guards inside in every corner and people have to line up outside, just like for a Disney park attraction!

I should NOT say that, but we sure did not look like potential buyers!
Here are some views of what we saw:

Rachel's BF, Rachel and I
(Just kidding!)

I believe picture taking is quite forbidden!
I wanted to buy Rachel something BUT she declined!
What a cool girl!!

For all you library types (and I mean that in the best possible way) I just read that the unintentionally funny line in The DaVinci Code is Tom Hanks saying "We've got to get to the library, fast!"  Don't know why it's funny, but it may just make a great go to the library promo

Probably because most of the laughing bozos think a library's only for nerds.  God knows Tom Cruise as Mr Macho Mission wouldn't know how to use a card catalogue!

Unless it blew up.  Or turned into a vehicle.

I don't know much about the word of the day other than the LP I have of Judy Garland Live at the Palidrome; and that TV series starring Richard Boone.

Then the musical would be called THE OLDEST GLADIATOR.
