I enjoyed the numbers from "The Pajama Game."

I know he's a more of a rock-n-roll singer, but maybe he can adjust.  Just a thought.

For the first time in several years, I stayed awake for the whole show.

I thought Cynthia Nixon's speech was a bit much...and she was telling the audience what the award was for...like we didn't know she was in a play and that this was the Tony awards!

And who was that she kissed before getting out of her seat?  Couldn't tell if it was a he or a she.

It was a she.  Cynthia is now a lesbian. ::)

Also, I thought Julia Roberts handled herself with great poise and charm.

The dress.....should have stayed in Hollywood for the next movie award walk down a red carpet....but....different strokes.

That clears up the gender question I had, then.  Thanks, George.

I'd read that The Pajama Game is a limited run, and that they want to bring it back next season...but probably without Harry.  I wonder if Michael Cavanaugh, who played piano for Movin' Out could play the role.  He certainly can play the piano.

Another singer who might be very good in the role:  Elliott Yamin.

According to her IMDb.com listing, here's a quote:

"My private life is private. But at the same time, I have nothing to hide. So what I will say is that I am very happy." [on being asked by The New York Daily News about her relationship with Christine Marinoni in September 2004]

Terrible Julia Roberts dress.  Blechhh.  Unlike Ron, I loathed the Pajama Game numbers - I can't stand Mr. Connick and his Sinatraisms, and the choreography was awful.

Nice death tribute - short and sweet - didn't know the lovely Geraldine Fitzgerald had passed - I really liked her.  And I adored Michael Gibson.

A delightful surprise that "The Pajama Game" was awarded Best Revival-Musical.  I know it updated the show a bit, especially to accommodate Connick's style, which I find much more to my liking than anything Sinatra ever did.

Its winning may have been a signal that "Sweeney" went too far.

I find it unfathomable that it was rewarded for best orchestrations.  All I've heard has been a serious misstep downward from the brilliant originals.

I was a bit shocked by the orchestration award after what I heard of it.  Our pal Steve Orich was up - my guess is that he probably thought he'd win.

As TPunk mentioned, Alfre showed up with her headlights on.

But she forgot to mention Alfre was running her fog lights, as well.

No one clapped until the end...probably because the pictures were going so fast that there wasn't time.  I wish people always held the applause until it was all over, rather than try and applaud for each person.

I cannot watch The Color Purple excerpt - all that screaming and scatting - too annoying.

Those two songs ("Hell No!" and the title song) are the only songs that I've seen on TV.  They are getting a litte old. ::)

I'm so "out of it".  I've only heard one of the Cast albums and I don't care for that much (Sweeney Todd). I may get to see the Awards at a later date!

So happy for La Chanze.  I'm only just realizing how many people I've worked with who were up for awards tonight.  Loved working with La Chanze (twice, I think).

Well, how can we help but sing...another Tony show is over...and many surprises, delights, disappoints abound.

It's time for a big muse-ee-cal number, donchathink!
