Believe it or not, that's exactly the location of the comment I was going to make before I censored myself.

Patricia Laffan (who was in QUO VADIS as Messalina, I think - some bad Roman anyway) - played the Devil Girl....Hazel Court was a London model just spending some time in an out of the way Inn after a disastrous love affair with a dress designer.

Patricia had a robot that looked like a Westinghouse refrigerator and flew around in a ship that looked like a teapot....what else can you ask from a movie?

Is there any relation between Hazel Court and Ray Court?

Good Afternoon!

Well, the cleaning will have to commence a little later.  I just got some "nice" mail, and I need to head to bank now.  :)  Plus, since I have no food here in the apartment, I have not had any real food today...  Well, I've had two Christmas cookies so far today, so...  I need to get some nourishment.

Laters...

I'm getting a tad peckish as I type this.

Must have been that reference to Christmas cookies.

And the word of the day is: FAVONIAN!
Casey would waltz
With a strawberry blonde
Across the FAVONIAN-kissed hilltops,
Their spring-time twirl marred only by the strawberry blonde's cursing
Every time she stepped into a cow pattie.

The cows may not have returned home,
But at least we know where they've been.

Back for but a moment - had a lovely breakfast meeting with Miss Joan Ryan and we're starting to work - have chosen a few definite things (including one very long piece of special material to existing songs with new lyrics by me), and shall now start playing through material.

I am!

I don't know why that didn't include my message. It should have said...instead of Ask BK Day (about wall cleaning) we should have Ask MattH Day!

From SWW:
Quote
We then all went to see a cinematic experience named Night at the Museum.  It is not a high drama.  Rather, it is a fun piece of fluff starring Ben Stiller as the new night watchman at the Museum of Natural History in NYC.  Nothing grand, just a lot of slapstick and a number of nice cameos by Dick Van Dyke, Mickey Rooney, Ricky Gervais, a restrained Robin Williams, and (in a bit of stunt casting that der Grampa and I were probably the only ones in the theater to "get") Anne Meara.  We all had a good time.

What a fun film to take the Grandlads to.  Not expecting much I had more fun with it than Keith did.  I’m surprised you were the only ones laughing at the Anne Meara bit.

Morning to all!

Tomorrow I shall have to drive to work so I won't be able to post from the bus.  Just thought I'd let ya'll know that.

So far the New Year has been peaceful.  Let's hope that keeps up.

I take Bear to the vet tonight to have his stitchs taken out of his ear and his leg.  I know that's going to cost at least another hundred.  Sigh.

I don't believe I have ever paid to have stitches removed for anyone in our family, people or pets.

Re: last night's question about THE BRAIN cd and whether to include the lyrics or the pictures.
...This has me curious now what other cast recordings freaks would choose.
I think it depends on the show.  If there are a lot of visuals, I want the pictures.  If the lyrics are great, I want the lyrics.  If there's a complex story, I want a synopsis.

And if all three are fantastic?  I've got a problem.

Example: With Wicked, I would have loved to have some kind of synopsis, particularly since the storyline is very complex, and having some kind of context for the songs would have been helpful.  We had an arguement here at HHW about this, where a former DR insisted that no synopsis should be included, as it would spoil the show for everyone seeing it for the first time... which of course assumed we could all make our way to NYC to see it, totally ignoring how many of us do not live in NYC or can make the trip that easily.

Example: The OLR recording of the London production of Follies had little in the way of pictures, which were blurry, and much in the way of lyrics, many of which were new.  But the font used to print the lyrics was so tiny that it seemed a waste of paper, they were so hard to read.  Having seen the production, I can assure you, pictures would have made a better representation of the show for the booklet.

I'm going to say that, with Brain, I'd like to have the lyrics, but I want them readable.  None of this tiny font balony.  If that means finding them on-line, that's fine by me.  I have no problem printing them out.  Particularly in the case of Brain, I'd like to have them printed out so that, when riding in the car with the grandlads, we can hand the lyrics to Alex, so he can read along with the songs, and hand a lovely booklet with pictures to William, who is still in the first grade and won't be reading that quickly.
