I keep seeing this commercial that I think is for a video game....but it's a movie:  300 about The 300 Spartans.

I'm glad I'm not alone.

I'm still trying to get a lamp.  I was on hold for fifteen minutes - finally got someone on the phone, gave them all the info, then was told I had to call the parts department to actually order the lamp.  It turns out that number in the booklet is the parts department - you know, the one that was busy.  I spent ten minutes on constant redial, then finally got a ring and was greeted by more voice mail options.  I'm now on hold waiting for someone to speak with.

Just keep hitting "0"... again.. and again... and again...

Tuesday greetings!  My day started badly - no tables in the room where my grantseeking basics class was scheduled and the projection system did not work.  I got started about 15 minutes late, but it all turned out OK in the end.

Maybe my BRAIN will come today...

Well, it's currently partly cloudy/sunny and in the mid-40s, and I believe I'm going to go for a walk.  Just because I can.  Once I get back, I have some laundry to take care of, and, of course, the ever-present "boxes-o-stuff", so...

Oh...  And this is truly not for the faint of heart, nor the easily offended, but...

After my 30-minute wait with US Air yesterday, this morning - when I called to cancel my flight this afternoon - I had no wait at all.  Perhaps they're all on Customer Service with BK?

I have found that pressing '0' works in some situations when you get the dancing menus.

Forgot to mention,

I did see Follies: the Concert this past weekend and it was very nicely done. They had several alums playing the roles and the students playing the flashbacks. The costume department did a beautiful job on the costumes especially on the Ziegfeld-follies type costumes.

Janet Dickinson and DC Anderson did a very good job as Sally and Buddy. They had a QnA session after the show and some of the actors discussed their roles and experiences.  DC Anderson had the most intersting tales. He has done some Broadway, off-Broadway, cabaret and touring work.  He invited people to visit his site and check out his work, www.dcanderson.net

Janet commented on her role in the How the Grinch Stole Christmas

RE Manhattan Tower CD - it's from a company called Sepia that puts out Public Domain titles - it's not coming from master tapes - just an LP transfer.

Finally ordered the lamp - I just missed the cutoff for it to be shipped today.  I wonder why I just missed the cutoff - it must be because they had me on hold first for fifteen minutes to speak to someone I didn't need to speak to, then on hold for an additional ten minutes.  That must be it.  In any case, the lamp will be here Friday.  I could have done Thursday but it would have cost another fifteen bucks and I can deal with the one extra day.  Lamps are not under my five year extended warranty, however.  Just what IS under my five year extended warranty is anyone's guess.

Did you get an extra one or three, so that you don't have to go through the hassle quite so soon, again??

Actually, all we did was get them capital gain rates on part of their income rather than regular rates, but that's still a nice chunk of change.

If you like that disc, you might want to track down a copy of "Los Tangueros".  It's two-piano arrangements of a couple of Piazzolla tangos played by Emmanuel Ax and Pablo Ziegler.  Some fun, nimble and passionate playing.

THANK YOU, JOSE! I will do that. I had never heard anything like Piazzolla's music before I discovered his work several years ago. I'd heard tango, of course, but nothing like his.
