You would not want to start VERONICA MARS in the middle of a mystery arc. You wouldn't be able to enjoy it as much without the backstory.

If you're interested in samling it, better to rent the DVDs of the first two seasons. These will give you your best chance to get into the show and enjoy it. The show features a long mystery arc that takes many episodes to be solved but contained in most episodes is also a smaller mystery that Veronica solves on her way to uncovering clues to the bigger msytery. This is the kind of show that absolutely requires that you follow it week-to-week. Missed episodes means there will be large holes in your knowledge of what's been uncovered and what is yet to find out.

I began my afternoon of viewing with VERONICA MARS. Surprising occurrences, the solution of the murdered coach mystery, and more clues in the Dean's murder.

Loved the show.

Next came LAW & ORDER: CI with Rita Moreno returning to play Goran's mother and the always wonderful Tony Goldwyn playing his homeless brother, our first glimpse of this character. (I suspect we'll be seeing more of him.)

The mystery involved an evangelical preacher caught after having hired a male escort for sexual purposes. The original LAW & ORDER based a plot on this same ripped-from-the-headlines story just a week or two ago, though certainly the plots went into different places. In fact, as it turned out, the male escort plot didn't actually have anything to do with the murder though it was a marvelous red herring.

Tom Arnold played the evangelical minister.

BOSTON LEGAL had Alan trying two cases, one against his old friend Jerry Espinson. The other case involving the man's body being used as a science display is a case he certainly should have lost, but this show always seems to have Alan winning his cases, even when he doesn't deserve to win.

The Danise/Brad baby storyline has really tried my patience.

I saved LAW & ORDER: SVU for tonight, so I put in THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD. It is a splendid looking DVD, and though I didn't get quite to the end of it, I certainly enjoyed every frame of it.

I miss talking!

The only other time I ever lost my voice was my senior year in high school, there was some sort of 3 day lose your voice bug going around that like 10 of us caught in the same month. Unfortunately I was scheduled to give a speech to the newly initiated thespians ( I was Vice President, but the President was out of town so the honor was passed down to me) and could not. I ended up creating a beautiful mime type speech, which the secretary spoke aloud.
