Whatever my 4:00pm meal is called.  ;)

Well, either "Afternoon Tea" or "Jose's Excess" would be appropriate.

DR JoseSPiano, didn't mean to mislead, but when I typed New York, I meant the state, not the city!  I'm in Westchester, but only about a half hour out by train.

"Let's go UP to Westchester."

What's that from?

DR singdaw - I've had variations of Paula Deen's "Better Than Sex" Cake.  Usually with chocolate pudding.  It's not bad, but I'm not sure I'd truly qualify it as "better than sex".  Although, that may all depends upon one's experience.  Or lack thereof.

;D

With chocolate pudding and all that whipped cream, it should be a "Better With Sex" cake. ;D

AND...on a totally different subject...

WHY has not Rita Moreno's "Googie Gomez" of The Ritz been preserved forever on silver disc?
It has been in this house. Everything's coming up Googie.

...preceded and/or anteceded(?)...

No. dear heart, "ante" means "before" (ante-bellum, AM); what you have is a postprandial stroll.

Or you could have your nosh succeeded by a walk.

I guess all this walking is what keeps you fitting into that size 1 "little-black-dress" ;)

It has! Only it wasn't one of those little silver DVD discs but rather one of those large silver laserdiscs. I have it on laserdisc.

Sorry to read about DR Ron Pulliam's stomach virus. I hope tending to my friend Jeff (who has a BAD case of it) didn't allow me to send germs over the internet for folks to catch!  ???

STarted out the afternoon watching POSEIDON on HBO-HD. Not nearly as effective as the 1972 version for my money though, of course, it cost hundreds of millions more to produce. To be honest, I don't think the actors were nearly as personable a bunch as in the 1972 version. I actually found several of them very irritating and wished them ill, not what the writers and director would have wanted the audience to feel, I don't think.

I'll stick to the original version as a guilty pleasure. I don't really understand why they felt the need to remake it anyway.

Next I watched a couple more episodes from the BONES DVD set including the one where Booth's FBI friend (played by the always hunky Adam Baldwin) has to take charge of brennan's protection when Booth is almost blown up by a bomb. Superb episode.

Finally, I put in LOUISIANA PURCHASE. Made by Paramount in Technicolor, it has that brownish Technicolor look that all of Paramount's Technicolor films tend to have on DVD. Of course, Universal hasn't done any noticeable clean-up of the print they used for the DVD. The reel change markers are still there in glorious purple, and there are colored specks sprinkled throughout the first 20 minutes that I've watched.

CATS and MICHAEL FLATLEY are coming to Indianapolis, but they are in separate shows.

Wow! Two must-misses.

Is this a new euphemism for etchings?

I've been out taking the day.  Apparently today was the LA Marathon but I was lucky and didn't run into any of the routes.  I had a lovelier than lovely bacon cheeseburger at Astro Burger.

I picked up a cheap copy of Infamous - was this made at the same time as Capote and then held for release?  I find it almost impossible to imagine that two Capote projects just happened to happen at exactly the same time, just as I find it almost impossible to imagine that The Prestige and The Illusionist could happen concurrently.

Hello!
I'm home, but only for a minute.
Thank you soooo much for all the birthday wishes, It is really something special.

To continue my wonderful birthday weekend I am now going to see "The Groovaloos", a free 40 dollar ticket because it's my b-day and I know the choreographer. Then I will come home and walk over to the Pantages where I have tickets to see "Wicked", also free from a friend who decided not to go.

Just heard DR Ben's review of The Fantasticks, and, as usual, "They Were You" made me cry.

I like that song also. I rented the soundtrack from the library. I also got Damn Yankees sound track that has Gwen Verdon and Tab Hunter.

I'm looking forward to seeing INFAMOUS when it finally shows up on pay cable. I won't shell out any money to rent/buy it until I sampled the goods, but it got very good reviews.

It's Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance

I would guess CATS is Feet of Clay

I acutally got to see Micheal Flatley perform in Lord of the Dance  a number of years ago when the show came to Fargo. I was very surprised. A good friend of mnie at the time treated me to it.
