In a daring double-bill playing in repertoire,

West Side Story and Ohlahoma, but with this gimmick:

West Side Story set as a Western, while Oklahoma! is re-imagined to expose the seamier side of tenement life.

As for "Top Design"...

-I was actually hoping for more of a Goil breakdown.  However, the previews for next week look promising.  ;)

Okay, let's have more bad directorial touches in musical plays.  Let us imagine a director/choreographer with a "vision" and let's imagine what they would do to some classic musicals and  musical numbers - sort of a what if.

Well, we've already had two John Doyle abortions of two glorious Sondheim shows.

I always feel a revival by Susaqn Shulman, after her less-than-glorious SOUND OF MUSIC and TEENEY TODD, is a sure sign of a flop.

A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum more as Greek (or Shakespearean) Tragedy where actors are gouging out their eyes and everyone but Erronious is dead at the final curtain.

As for "Lost"...

A good episode.  -And the closing minutes - including the previews for next week - were quite gasp-inducing.

As for "America's Next Top Model"...

That poor girl who had her new hair-do "reversed" after already sitting in the chair for eight hours... Ouch!  However, the photos taken after the makeover were quite nice, but I didn't really dig the "candy" photos.

From the sad but true department...

...Or a production of Godspell and/or Jesus Christ Superstar being done at Catholic high school... Consequently, the Resurrection is added as an Epilogue to both pieces.

And if it's a high school with money, there must also be an Ascension into Heaven (courtesy of Flying by Foy!)

Good Afternoon!

-Why do I usually end up crying during a read-thru, run-thru? ...But I guess that's a good thing when in the bigger scheme of things.

Is it wrong to search through the touring shows to see if any of my favorite old TV stars are featured in the cast before deciding whether to plunk down 70 bucks for tickets?

DR elmore - Frank Vlastnik and Daniel Marcus send their best.

Danny's in it, too?  I love him!

Who else besides Frank and Danny and Patrick and you?  IF it's John Kander, ask him why it's Bill Brohn and not me!

Only if Sally Struthers is included in that list.

I'm on hold.  I hate being on hold, especially with the kind of music I'm being forced to listen to.  I've written a half a page.  I guess the other two and a half pages will be coming later.

The sooner America starts voting for talent rather than potential "dates", the sooner this competition will take on some credibility.

I suspect the voting has a particular bias - it is (almost) self evident the the next American Idol will be one of the top three women - so the quick-thumbed teeney-boppers can have some fun bouncing around the guys 'till the show gets down to business.
