Never hypnotized.....that I remember....but I might have been told to forget all about it.

Pat Collins was on an episode of the Lucy Show....she had big white cat's eye glasses.

It's the people behind the scenes who see the "stars" in various emotional states, from serious professional to asshole.  It's usually the crew for the gossip about the tantrums, sexual assignations, fitting problems, demands, etc.

Well said!  Yes, it's the day-to-day quirks of "star" egos they don't want publicized...the "diva" mentalities of some of the male prima donnas, especially.

singdaw - I guess you're right, it depends where you're sitting.  Thinking back, from the tiers at City Opera (grand tier on up), it seems you can look squarely at the stage and take in the titles and the stage at the same time.  But when I sat in the orchestra section for HARVEY MILK at City Opera, seeing the titles when necessary (not always, since it was in English)  was a chore.

We were in the center grand tier at the Met last night, which was perfect for seeing what was going on onstage.  (Thrilling when the several chandeliers rose right in front of us before the opera, BTW; hope that doesn't peg me as looking for theme park entertainment, but it was exciting).

If it's a real member, my apologies.

DR ELMORE:  Those dreams...they're your subconscious working out issues you have with your family.  They don't always make sense, and they never have a proper chronology.

I have to say I've had a few in my past....and I've always wished they were among the dreams I'd forgotten by the time I woke up, but that's not the case.  I still vividly recall some...and some conversations I had in them with dearly departed!

HANG IN THERE!

I confess...that moment [before each MET performance] always makes me swoon and giggle at the same time.    :D

So, how was the opera?  Did you crave orange juice when you got home?

"American Idol" hypocrisy situation:

It's one thing for the judges to tell the wannabes how they did, including when they just haven't got the pipes for a particular song or when they are "pitchy", etc.

But who tells the "Guest Stars" when they're atrocious beyond words?

Last night, Peter Noone was EXCRUCIATINGLY bad in his rendition of "There's a Kind of Hush..."   He is well past being able to pull off a song like that...and the hand in the air does nothing...and the "sssh's" he peppered throughout the song were LUDICROUS.

As for Lulu, she's still got the pipes, but gone is the upper range which was a major part of her "sound".  Her "To Sir With Love" was riveting, but sadly, her higher sustained notes were off pitch.

Sometimes, it should be "all right" for the guests NOT to sing.

DR DakotaCelt - I hope everything works out for the best for that man who was left in the library last night.  Such a despicable and sad situation.

I do too...

I nearly served on a jury but was rejected due to my hearing. The prosecuter thought I would be bias to the case. It was an insurance fraud type case.

wonder if paramedics know how to get a person out of a hypnotic state?

Since I am an experienced hypnotist, I'll venture an answer:

A hypnotic trance must be maintained by the hypnotist's voice (or the subject will fall into a natural sleep). A post-hypnotic patient acting under post-hypnotic suggestion can only be re-programmed by inducing another hypnotic state (not necessarily by the same hypnotist) - that is why hypnotic-induced non-smoking routines regularly work.
