DR MattH - Good pic.

Thanks. I do remember the one you're using now, and I've always found it ethereal. Good one!

DR edisaurus - RE: "Sacco & Vanzetti" - BRAVA!

*And remember to ration out those cookies.  Those are definitely meant to go with a cold glass of milk.  And maybe even a piece of fruit, like an apple.

Next, I began rewatching 16 BLOCKS, a DVD I got as a Christmas present and watched in December. The HBO-HD version came on today, but it was cropped to 1.78:1, so I thought I'd rewatch the whole image in its original aspect ratio even if it was only in upconverted high definition rather than the real thing.

I sampled another episode of GHOST WHISPERER tonight. A little different from previous episodes since the ghost wasn't actually present until near the end of the episode. Unusual and entertaining.

Some stupid oaf at the CBS affiliate here forgot to flip the HD switch for the first half hour, so I watched the first half in standard definition before he woke up and switched it over to the HD feed from CBS.

RAINES featured Laurie Metcalf as a homeless woman found shot, The case ended up being surprising and quite sad as we learned more about her and about a nefarious scheme being undertaken in her name.

And LAW & ORDER featured the return of Tovah Feldshuh as feisty attorney Danielle Melnick defending a father who murdered his daughter's biology teacher for teaching evolution instead of creationism. As usual, there was a lot more to the case than that, all of which came out in the open by the end of the hour.

YIKES!

Quote
WEEHAWKEN, N.J. -- A New Jersey Transit commuter bus crashed into the center divider of Interstate 495 near the Lincoln Tunnel Friday night, causing major traffic delays.

The accident occurred at 7:30 p.m. and involved a bus bound for Paterson from the Port Authority Terminal in midtown Manhattan, said Dan Stessel, a spokesman for NJ Transit.

More than 60 people were on board the bus at the time of the accident, NewsChannel 4 reported.

Seven people with serious injuries, including the female bus driver, were also transported to hospitals. Officials said at least 26 others were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Crews worked on the people on the bus, which departed from the Port Authority Bus Terminal and was headed for Patterson along Route 90.
Stessel told members of the media that he did not have information about how fast the bus was traveling when it struck the divider. The front end of the bus hung up on the guardrail.
Emergency crews from NJ Transit and the Port Authority police responded, using ladders to remove some passengers.
The accident forced closure of the outbound lanes of the Lincoln Tunnel helix, causing massive traffic backups.
The cause of the accident was not immediately known.

....They just showed the traffic back-ups in midtown/Theatre District due to everyone trying to leave the city via the Lincoln Tunnel.  Gonna be a long night for some of the bridge and tunnel crowd.

At one point during a commercial during GHOST WHISPERER tonight, I flipped over to ABC which was rerunning the second season episode that brought Denny Duquette back to Seattle Grace beginning a long, loving, and emotional story arc for his character and Dr. Izzy Stevens. I didn't stop to watch it since I was into GHOST WHISPERER, but I took the second season of GREY'S ANATOMY off the shelf and put the DVD for that episode in the player to enjoy it at some point tomorrow.

SO SORRY  to hear about DR EDI's wallet loss. How very annoying! And to lose your keepsakes! I truly hope someone finds your wallet and it is returned to you WITH keepsakes!

And speaking of TV series...  -And since the ads are plastered all over the subway cars here in NYC...

What's up with the new Showtime series, "The Tudors"?  Any buzz?  Any interest?

better get some sleep. I hear the traffic will be crazy and the airport very busy due to the basketball hoo rah.  Of course I'm going the opposite direction, but I'm thinking I better get there early just in case.  I shipped my 862 page book back via UPS so I wouldn't have to carry it on the plane.

I am greatly looking forward to it since the entire Tudor period has always been one of interest to me. I understand this takes even greater liberties with history than HBO's ROME did, but it still looks fascinating.

I agree, and I think the producers were lucky to get him to succeed Richard Harris in the role. In fact, I'm not sure Harris would have been up to the demands of the role in this upcoming POTTER film. In the two films he did, Harris seems very frail, and Dumbledore has never been anything like that.

Back from dinner.  No new e-mails, so maybe the storm will die down and we can just proceed like normal people.  Amusingly, I asked how this woman went from resigning the presidency to being on the board - I was told she was voted in.  I asked by whom.  I was told by those at that meeting.  I said that I, a board member, was never told about such a vote nor invited to vote or even discuss it.  I said, where does she get off talking about by-laws now when that sort of thing happened regularly (not to mention that most people on the current board have been there for ten years - I have never seen nor been told of any voting in that entire time).  Furthermore, and most amusingly, I was then told that the second president of the organization had suspended the by-laws and everyone voted with him to do so - which means, effectively, there are no current in effect by laws.
