I went to the scratch and dent office furniture place today and bought a wonderful traditional Hon Executive Desk and a close to matching (you'd have to look close to see it doesn't come from the same set) credenza/lateral file cabinet for around 70% off!  It's a beautiful desk with a little missing filigre (same maghogany color underneath so you can't tell) and a missing drawer pull.

The credenza has a shinier finish and slightly different drawer pulls, otherwise it's identical. It had a little scratch on the top, but nothing very noticeable and it will probably be covered with something any way.  I couldn't believe the deal I got on them and they are perfect for the lawyer image I want to give people

Actually it isn't the drawer pull that's missing it's the pull on the little flat board thingy you pull out

And the desk has the big overhang on the client side so someone can pull up a chair and sign documents without having to sit funny

Thanks DR Jane.  Now the biggest purchases have been made, the computer, the software, the library and the desk.  I am very happy at the way things are progressing

Oy. There was a leak behind the wall we didn't know about. I guess I should go ahead and choose a paint color for the new wall I am going to have.

I hear deep cherrywood is rather nice.

Yes---that was one BIG hailstone!

Gee, I seemed to be dodging a lot yesterday: hail, gunmen...

LA will seem safe by comparision!

Cilla-Does immigration law change from state to state?  Can you practice that anywhere in the country?

It's the same everywhere in the country and I could practice anywhere.

But at this moment I should run.  I took the afternoon off and I should do some productive things with it.

BK - Still no package today. Last I checked the tracking info still just says it was accepted at the mail place in Studio City but nothing more. So I'm not sure it ever left there.

TPunk, you really should try Dick Van Patten's Natural Balance Cat food, and no they don't pay me to keep mentioning it, but Boo's digestive problems went away immediately when she started eating it.  No wheat gluten in it either

At this point I'm willing to try anything- it helps with constipation?

DR Laura, a new bathroom! How wonderful!

But I didn't want a new bathroom! I just wanted new pipes INTO the bathroom!

It appears that we are fixing the bad work of the last contractor who did this bathroom.

I would have preferred that the master bathroom would be the new bathroom.

Poor DearReaderLaura  :(

I don't envy you.

I hope that the contractor who built my bathroom back in 1941 did a good job...I don't want to have to replace anything.
