Heard from the car place - naturally, it's never just the major servicing (which is hugely expensive) - now, in addition to that I need front and rear brake pads (I thought it would be one or the other, not both). In addition, the little oil leak would cost me 1500 to fix, so I said forget it. My local gas station looked at the leak a few months ago and quoted me a price of 300 bucks, so I'll see if they can do it. Also, there is some noise that happens occasionally when I'm turning. He said what's causing it (can't remember now) but that would also be a major expense along the lines of the oil leak fix. I'll find out exactly what they're talking about and then I'll price it out at my local station. With a car that's nine years old, when you start having to put that much dough in, then it's time to get a new car. I'm not going to spend $3000 on fixing stuff - that's just sickening.
