All of you boys can keep wishin' and hopin'...

As long as you're happy it's all good.  I've no personal preference for you, one way or t'other.

I don't speak for the HHW "droolers", of course.

Just read the story about the "judge" who is suing a dry cleaners for $65 mil.  I hope they hang HIM out to try.  This is everything that's wrong with the judicial system in this country - someone who has money abusing the system.  I know this from first hand experience, believe me.  This cretin should be dis-barred and thrown out of town on a rail.  Happily, there is a groundswell of support for the Korean cleaners, and one prominent person is asking that this judge not have his position renewed (it's coming up).  They need to protect people who are sued for frivolous and malicious reasons by wealthy people who ultimately have to settle cases they might even win because they can't afford to keep on with it, said settlement coming only after the wealthy and malicious people have cost the person their suing so much money that they've probably harmed them for years to come.

Back from world-record setting. We had to re-enact it for the news. Twice.

In my opinion, if the news people can't get there on time for a scheduled news event, they lose out and the competition who got there on time should get the story.

Linda Blair is quite lovely...and she does a LOT of her own skating!

Someone should have told the writers and the director that roller skating is not an Olympic event.

BK ~ I saw your post asking DR ELmo about the NYMF.  I'm not sure what info you or Lar were needing, but on the NYMF website I found a news release dated around March 2nd or so saying they had just closed the submission process and the judges were starting to look through the entries and they would be announcing those selected in about three months -- so I assume around the first part of June (?)...

Thank you, DR Miss Karen! No one from NYMF has returned my call, and I'm afraid if I'm too anxious, they'll reject The Brain.

In 30 minutes, I'm off to the doctor.  This morning, after a great deal of discomfort, I scheduled an emergency appointment to have this awful back pain examined.

I must say, getting home early enough to catch the soaps is so educational: I've learned more than I ever want to know about genital herpes, and I'm puzzled by this concept of "freshness": the men either change a shirt or add some deodorant under their arms, but the ladies are advised to use FDS or scented douches.  Why do I find this offensive to women?

The attack of Skunkus Dinosaurus...

Yesterday the day dawned bright and the birds sang however, there was a foul odor in the air and it grew worse as the day went on.

A chat show on the radio had callers describing the smell the covered the cities of Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo and Dilworth and could be detected as much as 10 miles away. Yes we were caught in a stench the size of a dinosaur!

I loved the guesses in this stinky mystery:

The lies of Bush and Cheney are beginning to reek
NDSU cow barns having a fart
a warehouse of rotten eggs
Industrial fart
The BEet Plant.

One woman who was driving in from Barnesville, MN even remarked that it was either the beet plant or the fossiled remains of skunkus dinosaurus have been found and it was letting the stink off.

Of course the local beet plant, American Crystal Sugar denied initially and said it was perhaps a dead animal or two along the river.  IMHO, one dead animal would not give off a stench to cover 20 square miles.

AS of late last night MPCA and the EPA traced it back to the beet plant. Their explanation... We stand by our assertions.

IT was foul!

DR RonP, re: American Idol.

I agree that Melinda and Lakisha have great voices. But at least for me, Lakisha has been off quite a few weeks now (this week i liked her a lot).  To me being the winner is not just about having a good voice, it's about the total package.  I love watching what blake does.  I have never seen another performer like him.  But i have been so bored watching many of lakisha's performances. And i just can't imagine sitting through a concert with just her.

I still think melinda is america's favorite.  But who knows.

Yep, cyber overload here at HHW (must be all of those lurkers jammin' the circuits) -- "too many connections" was flashing here in AZ, too.

How ya doing, DCelt, and how are things with your family?  You sounded stressed in one of your posts from the other day (recap post to honor Mr P..)... I've been errant and truant for a while, so I'm way behind (another recap post for Mr P)...
