That's funny! However, it also says that Tom Cruise weighs 200 pounds...I don't think that that's correct.

Yes, I think that's true. I meet lots of people at my local video store who like classic films--some won't even go to a movie in a theater. One video store employee told me that a lot of their business is older films--not the blockbusters, which surprised me. Then there's the "date movie" thing. Two very different audiences, both watching films?

In any case...

The train ride up from DC was pleasant and uneventful. There were four Italian tourists sitting behind me, and from what I could understand from my rudimentary knowledge of Italian, it was there first trip abroad. And I think the two men were brothers, and they were with there wives. -I didn't have my Cassell's on me, so...

Otherwise, the train got in a few minutes early... There was an A Train "waiting" for me when I got the subway platform. And there was a wonderful CD from Down Under in my mailbox... As well as a check for a gig I did a few weeks ago - and had forgot about.

-So, I've also been to the bank already too.

RE: Tom Cruise's weight - I'm suspecting that they're padding and/or guessing his weight. It's possible that he did at one point and time weigh 200 pounds, but 200 pounds on his frame would seem very evident as it were. At least to me.

I met him when "Top Gun" premiered. I managed to attend the special premier they had out at Dulles Airport - I think it was there. In any case, it was sort of a makeshift set-up. Lots of military people were invited, former astronauts, etc. Hard to believe that 20 years ago. -More than 20? -Somebody check the IMDB for me.

In any case... I have to say, he was quite cute, hot and sexy(!) back then. And sort of surprisingly "plain" looking in person. But the smile and the eyes truly caught your - well, my - attention. Basically, the sexy-regular-looking guy. Whatever that means.

*However, I do have to say that Rick Russovich and Val Kilmer (at that point and time) were truly the eye candy of the evening. -And when that volleyball game started on screen, you could sense everyone's hormones - the women's as well as some of the men - starting to perk up as it were.

DR Tomovoz - As I mentioned, the HHW Birthday CD was waiting for me in the mail basket when I got back to the apartment. Alas, the CDs I sent you two weeks ago were also waiting for me in the mail basket. There's some tag on the customs form saying, "Undeliverable", followed by some numbers - I guess that's some code for the problem/violation/rule/bureaucracy.

So, I shall attempt to post it again tomorrow morning. Thankfully, the envelope was not opened, and the contents were intact. Whew!

I can only judge what I've seen on HBO/Showtime/Starz. Two of the biggest hits of the past two years were WEDDING CRASHERS and THE 40 YEAR OLD VIRGIN. I had friends who liked both. I found both unbearable.

The producers are catering to the Saturday night date crowds and the teen/early 20s male sensibilities, neither of which I fit into.

But, that's OK. They can have CLICK and BRUCE ALMIGHTY, and I'll take the occasional comedy-drama (THE DEVIL WEARS PRADA) and NBC's comedy line-up.
