On the musical front, we did Contempt of Courtship, Summery Proceedings, It's a Long Way to Certiorari, among others, but also did a non-musical play every fall.

MBarnum, you may not need to sell your books!  I had the "musty odor" syndrome in old books and old LPs, and my mother, in one of her rare lucid moments (joke, kind of) suggested I put those scented dryer sheets in amongst the pages and inside the LP jackets.  Lo and behold, it worked!  (Sometimes it took two or three, replaced a couple of times, but it eventually always got rid of the smell).

DR Jeanne - you asked last night if I'd read any Rosamunde Pilcher books.  Yes, The Shell Seekers and maybe some others.  If you like her books, you might also like Maeve Binchy and Belva Plain.

Thanks for the recommendations, GINNY. Yes, I do like Rosamunde Pilcher's books, esp WINTER SOLSTICE. I've heard of Ms Binchy, but not Ms Plain. Have added both to my list.

Since our main lecture halls were Langdell North and Langdell Horth Middle, we also did North by North Middle, complete with cropduster parody.

LOL  In Sioux City North by North Middle, would be the High school.    (North High School is right by North Middle School)

My tax work is with a CPA firm, and we use something called CPA Software to enter our time and billing.

My former partner used to sell Tammy Faye Bakker (as she was then) antique jewelry at the flea market the first of every month. She always made a point of coming to his booth to see what he had. She never haggled about money, and always had two of three bodyguards around her as she walked through the flea market. (They were riding high at PTL at the time.)

I was not surprised to hear about her death. She had been going downhill for quite a while, and her picture in the newspaper this week after she appeared on Larry King was the stuff of nightmares.

Got some of the chores I wanted to get behind me done, but couldn't finish them. Won't be able to until later in the week.

I do still plan to clean gutters tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

I began the evening's entertainment with DANGEROUS WHEN WET. This has a jaunty score by Johnny Mercer and Arthur Schwartz, much better than the usual scores for Esther Williams musicals, and the cast is fun.
I only got about 45 minutes into it before I turned it off to watch a movie on TV.

I did watch LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE tonight. It was entertaining enough (road trip from hell), but I found the ending very unsatisfying. I wanted more, and it just seemed to run out of story.

The HD broadcast was very good, sharp with excellent color. And that beauty pageant was as frightening as I expected it to be. Nice to see familiar TV faces in supporting roles: Mary Lynn Rajskab from '24,' and Wallace Langham from CSI. Also a surprise to see Gordon Thomson from DYNASTY playing the gay author who stole Steve Carrell's lover away from him.

I went back to DANGEROUS WHEN WET after LITTLE MISS SUNSHINE concluded.

This DVD looks a thousand times better than EASY TO WED, very nice Technicolor and sharp enough without all that grain. It's mono sound, but it was very rich sounding.

There were three audio demos by Johnny Mercer on the DVD, and I enjoyed listening to him sing songs from the score. Great bonus feature.

Just finished watching Laurie Mitchell guest star on WANTED: DEAD OF ALIVE. I also chatted with her on the phone aftewards. She says that Steve McQueen dumped her into a pickle barrell (empty) on the set when he got mad because he flubbed a line. LOL!

Now time for Bollywood movie numero 2, Padmashree Laloo Prasad Yadav (2004)  starring Suniel Shetty, a guy who makes my heart speed up! Even more so then John Abraham!  ;D

Tonight, I programmed the DVR to record the Starz! broadcast of THE ILLUSIONIST, another 2006 film that I heard a lot about here, but never saw at the theater or on DVD. I should be able to watch it tomorrow.

I also have an episode of BURN NOTICE to watch that I recorded yesterday in a rebroadcast.

And, of course, there will be more MOONLIGHTING.
