Cilla, they wont be installing Vista on the library computers where I work. It does not work with the modules in the program we use.

My lap top has Windows Vista, but I haven't noticed much of anything different about it. Of course I hardly ever use it.

To my knowledge, I do not know if Vista is compatible with Broderbund's FamilyTreemaker software.

There are some service packs coming out to make it more compatible with more software. Right now it's compatible with everything I use

I will tell you this about Vista--it teaches you lots about things you probably never wanted to know about.  :)

I only got it because (as some HHW-ers will remember) our last computer died the week before Vista was released and it was literally impossible to buy a new computer with XP (Microsoft had some sort of deal with all retailers, and I mean all retailers, to pull all XP machines off the shelves).  It was a nightmare.  And it still is, kind of, though I'm getting used to it.  Kind of like the Bush years.   :o :-X

Vixdad helped someone set up their new  Vista computer (he is a computer consultant)

He came home and said we are not getting a new computer if we have to have Vista in it....

Back from two long drives and the debut of Miss Ryan's show.  I won't say it went perfectly, because it didn't, but I will say it went very well for a first time out, and the audience loved the show and it will get better and better from here on in.  More in the notes.

We had a wonderful meal at a place called Bandera, which, I gather is a chain.  Boy, was the food good - a very small menu, but we had appetizers of corn bread (served like a pie and out of this world), mac and cheese (really yummilicious), queso dip (spicy, but excellent), and I had a very good chicken Caesar.

It was amusing, but today was the first day in eight months that Newport Beach not only had overcast skies but had drizzle.  Thankfully, it began and ended before the concert, which was outdoors.  Very big crowd, too.
