I had a Subway Club for lunch. I picked up a package filled with DVD goodies - the same source (and final batch, since he's no longer working where he was) that got me all those wonderful DVD rarities of films that may or may not ever come out on DVD, all in glorious 16x9 transfers. I'm watching Under The Yum Yum Tree right now. For those who read Kritzer Time, you know that I used to love this play, even though it's smarminess is completely unacceptable in these times, and it's horribly dated. But I never loved the film version because it's opened up so much, and because Jack Lemmon just isn't as good as any of the people I saw do his role, which included Del Moore and Richard Erdman, amongst others. Dean Jones is fine as the younger fellow (played mostly by Bill Bixby the many times I saw the show), and Carol Lynley is very pretty - she was at the Hollywood Collector's Show this past weekend and if you didn't know it was her you wouldn't know it was her.
