I began my afternoon with the last 70 minutes of ROYAL WEDDING. It looks scrumptuous, and I think I enjoyed it more than any other time I've ever watched it since the transfer is so wonderful.

As for DANTE'S COVE, I DID say it was a guilty pleasure. Beautiful bodies but acting dreadful beyond measure and storytelling that's not quite up to C-movie level.

Great DVD choices for DR RLP. What will you watch first?

These days, DR SINGDAW, the Queen's ultimate weapon reminds me of those $10 outdoor tents you can buy for the lawn.....but it was nicely decorated....as were MOST of the Vesusians themselves.

One critic remarked that the Masked Queen and her court seemed to rule the planet as part of a game show.

I put in the first disc of EIGHT SIMPLE RULES today.

I have to admit I NEVER watched this show when it came on ABC (beginning in 2002). After watching about six episodes thus far, I think I was right to have skipped it. John Ritter plays father to three bratty children (high school age). The children's attitudes (particularly the girls) and smart-aleck backtalk are such an anathma to me that it's hard to enjoy anything humorous that happens to find its way into the stories.

And his bumbling cluelessness as a father (supposedly wife Katey Segal did the rearing of the children before going back to work leaving him to be the primary caregiver) is really irritating.

Just my luck. They filmed 28 episodes for the first season (at a time when most shows were doing 22 episodes).

Was anyone here a fan of EIGHT SIMPLE RULES when it ran for three seasons? Of course, after RItter died after a few episodes into Season 2, they brought in James Garner, and I'll bet he was a more no-nonsense father figure than Ritter is in the show.

Maybe a fan can help me understand the attraction of these really spoiled, off-putting kids and the wishy-washy parents who allow such disrespect.

Or is that the way families are in the 21st century? (Admittedly, I wouldn't know. That's why I'm asking.)

I hear you, DR MATTH. It is a different world in many ways.

Three people told us that they had a toy drum we could use.....I wanted to buy one on EBAY two weeks ago....but the director said Oh, No.....we have one.

And of course....not one of the three people can "find" theirs. So here we are - too late really to count on an online delivery for an opening a week from Thursday....

I went to a toy store today. No drum....and not many things that I would call toys.

If any DR hasn't been to a toy store recently.....take a trip on the wild side.

Well, I know I just got here, but it's time for me to go. Tonight is the 4th anniversary of Q's opening, so I'm hoping we'll be sold out and quite busy. After the show, I will be attending the after party (hopefully joined by a certain DR who is currently cleaning his room). I will do my best to get some pics.

In the meantime...
