So, DR JoseSPiano...

Where's that Orange Cake recipe?   :)

I dunno.  I was hoping that DR Tomovoz would repost his DP Colin's recipe.  However, I know that I have it somewhere on my computer, although, it may actually be on my old laptop, so...  In any case, I have sampled the orange cake in question made by the Colin in question, and I must say it was/is quite dee-lish.

Oh dear....that should have been TWO separate posts!!!!

Any resemblance between DR CILLA LIZ and the pants arguments was coincidental and not intended.  These pants were not meant to represent any HHW'er living or dead.

Here's a question for those in the know NYC HHW'ers....does Luisa and/or Matt change any portion of costume for the second act?

DR singdaw - Well, I couldn't find the recipe on my computer, however, I did find this similar on the net.  Maybe once DR Tomovoz awakens Down Under, he can post Colin's version.  But in the meantime...

From OzeVillage.com.au

For the Cake:
2 medium oranges
200g butter
1 cup caster sugar
4 eggs
2 cups plain flour
1 cup ground almonds
1/2 cup slivered almonds, toasted
1 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 cup buttermilk
2 teaspoons vanilla essence

For the Syrup:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tablespoons   marmalade

Preheat the oven to 180ºC and butter a 24cm non-stick, springform cake tin.

Wash the oranges and place the oranges in a saucepan of water. Bring to the boil and simmer gently for 1 hour. When cool, puree the oranges in a food processor until smooth.

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, and beating well after each addition. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, ground almonds, slivered almonds and bicarbonate of soda.

Add half the flour mixture to the creamed butter mixture, then add half the buttermilk, mix well. Repeat, using all the ingredients, then add the orange puree and vanilla and mix gently.

Pour the mixture into the prepared cake tin and bake at 180ºC for 60 minutes. The cake is cooked when it is golden brown and bounces back when gently pressed in the centre.

Meanwhile, make the syrup. Heat the sugar and juice together stirring all the time to dissolve the sugar. Bring to the boil and cook for 5 minutes. Add the marmalade and stir to dissolve. Spoon or brush the syrup over the cake while still in the tin. Remove the cake from the tin and serve with some clotted cream or rum and raisin ice cream.

I don't recall any major costume change.  However, Matt does don a "trick" shirt during his "travel" sequence.

BK - Is today still the release date for the Milla CD?

I saw it was up on amazon the other day, but now it doesn't seem to be there.

As for favorite paintings, well...

Seurat - "...La Grande Jatte"

I was able to see this in person when I was in college.  It was incredible.  I don't remember anything else that I saw there, just this one painting. :)

All of my favorite paintings are paint-by-number.

Paint by number paintings are starting to become collectable. I have friends who have some of them displayed at their home. Who knew?

It should be up on amazon, but they're very screwy over there, as you probably know.  I'll check on it.  CD Baby will have it up in the next week or so, but yes, the official street date is this very day.

This does sound delish!  I've never made a cake by converting a "foreign" recipe, but I just may give this a try.  I would assume that the oranges are boiled whole, correct? ::)

The oranges are boiled whole, then put in the "robo-coup" whole, seeds, rinds and all.

Again, maybe once DR Tomovoz is stirring, he can post Colin's version, with the non-metric conversions.

Had a brief conversation with the president of LACC - he's doing his best and is as annoyed as I am with what he's butting up against.  He assures me he'll make it happen, and I'm praying he will keep his word.  Hopefully, we'll have further information later today or tomorrow.
