Is this a slow news day here at haineshisway.com?  Who are the errant and truant - let us name names.  Stand proud and tall, O ye who are here.

Ron - I've responded to your post at FSM.

It's been more rollercoaster stuff today - tonight I relax.  For now, I'm listening to Jobim with Nelson Riddle and the orchestra - very soothing.

No news from the actress, but I don't think she's gotten the CD yet.  My casting director asked me not to call her, that he wants to deal with it through her agent, and I'm beginning to not like being told this sort of thing.  So, I'll call her tomorrow no matter what - what I don't want to find out is that somehow some other NYMF show snagged her.  In fact, I'll have my friend Walter Willison call her right now.

DR Jose, about that phone message: I think you're saying you will meet me at the theatre tomorrow night? 8:00 pm?

The office is looking good, basically unpacked now and all the cartons emptied and carted away.

DR elmore - Yes.  It looks like we may be going later than 6:00 due to some last-minute appointment.  If things change, I'll call you tomorrow afternoon.

Well, the only news I can give is that DR MusicGuy and I unpacked some more boxes, and we had tuna sandwiches for lunch.

DR DearReaderLaura - If you see DR MusicGuy again soon, before he's reconnected his computer, please tell him that his Media Mail package arrived, and that I am THRILLED!  :)

Thanks-

Anyone have any recommendations on antivirus/firewall software for a PC?  I've had pretty good success with Norton products over the years, but their new Norton 360 is for the birds.  It screwed up my computer AND my Internet connections and has kept me on the phone to various customer service personnel for most of the past two evenings.   :P

Get a Mac.  ;)

Otherwise, I was a fan of McAfee too when I used my PC laptop.  What I liked most about McAfee is that they didn't "force" you to buy the whole bundle.  And their online Service/Security center was always easy to use.

As for a firewall, if you're using a wireless router in your home environment, there might be a basic firewall program bundled with the router software.  Otherwise, a basic encryption program should fit the bill.

And as DR Dan (the Man) mentioned, check with your ISP.  It may already be included in your service package.

Who are all these people thinking they can push Bruce Kimmel around lately...

This afternoon as I was walking by the Pantages I saw that Lou Diamond Phillips will be in Camelot as soon as Wicked is packed up. So of course I had to come home and put on The King and I.

Bossa nova, anyone?

Well... Julie Andrews, Steve Lawrence, guitarist Luiz Bonfa and the Nelson Riddle orchestra... and I'm in heaven!

Tell me I was hallucinating department:

I swear to G-d I just heard one of the "side effects" warnings on a "restless leg syndrome" medication ad warn against "uncontrollable urges to gamble."  I swear I am not making this up!!

Oh, wait a minute--since it's restless leg syndrome, maybe it was uncontrollable urges to GAMBOL.  (Sorry, couldn't resist).

You're not hallucinating, DR JMK.  We were watching TV a few days ago, and we all went, "WHAT?!??!"  So, through the wonders of DVR, we were able to rewind right there on the spot, and, sure enough, "uncontrollable urges to gamble".  Who knew?  ::)

Those two grand cable dramas BURN NOTICE and MAD MEN, both on at 10 p.m., will undoubtedly be watched/recorded tonight.

Our COMCAST cable service is providing HD copies of the MAD MEN episodes on the On-Demand feature (also have HD Closer and regular HEARTLAND)
