At the Meijer store today, there were FOUR books about Hillary Clinton.
Two of them had lovely airbrushed photos on the cover and had titles that intimated that she was our country's only hope and the savior of the world.
The other two had really scary pictures on the front and seemed to compare her to Hitler or Saddam Hussein.
And it's only September, 2007.
There are MANY men out there who are totally threatened by women in politics...and the more power the women attain, the more threatened and desperate they get.
Some are deathly afraid that the women in the U.S. "might" actually wake up and shake off the cobwebs of the GOP spinmeisters and start thinking it's way past time for a woman to lead the country out of the unprecedented national despair of the past 8 years.
It's really telling that the preponderance of Bush's presidency has been during "a time of national emergency" (Bush's own words those). It has always caught my attention that any time Bush's ratings dropped, the security threat level was raised.
Whether anyone likes Sally Fields or not, her speech last night was in tune with the character for which she won her Emmy....a mother whose son had served in Afghanistan, returned to the U.S. with a drug problem and was, yet again, called back to active service in the Middle East.
Mr. Bush....LET YOUR PEOPLE GO!
