Is this the Helen Mirren dress?  If so, I thoroughly agree with both of you.  It looks odd in that picture.

Yes, it is Helen Mirren's dress we're talking about.

Good Afternoon!

Lunch!

-Which is almost almost over.  Our morning session ran over by about 45 minutes - but we managed to see all the Equity women who had signed up by the cut-off time.  Now we're taking a shorter/longer lunch break...

-Oh, we didn't see all the Equity people... Just got the word that we got two more groups to go before we see the Non-Eq folks... So...

In short... By the time we finish at whatever time we finish, we'll have seen 347 women today.

WHEW!

Marvelous Matt just came by to pick up all the left-overs from various and sundried remodeling projects and donate them to the local Habitat for Humanity Restore. I both get rid of it and get a tax deduction. Neat. I was amazed at how much there was. I learned from experience to hang on to many scraps until the project is COMPLETELY over. I just hope I don't have to buy back any of the stuff I'm donating!

Upload a photo and discover which celebrities you resemble the most HERE.

Using my avatar pic, I'm told I resemble Danny Kaye, Glenn Danzig, Tim Robbins, Mario Andretti, Alan Rickman, Carson Daly and Ariel Sharon.  The closest that I would agree with is a picture of Jon Voight that must have been taken on a very bad day.

Not being terribly technically minded, the only way I can accomplish this is to dub from DVR to VHS and then back to DVD.  Cumbersome, to say the least!

DR Singdaw, I don't understand--if you can connect your DVR to your VCR, why can't you connect to your DVD recorder?

;D  I can't connect to find out who I resemble.  I should try various photos of me at different stages of my life, see if they match any of the people I have often been told I resemble.

I wonder who the site will say td looks like ;)

..  Let's just say I was reacting to an apparently functional moron whose sole argument in favor of his position is to hurl insults at those who question his claims (which are ludicrous and not based in fact/reality/rational thought).

Sounds like FoxNews most of the time some of the time :D

I had a nice lunch today and then went out on my errands. I wore jeans for the first time today since the early spring, and though the temps are probably in the high 70s, I didn't feel the least bit hot or uncomfortable.

I have my DVD burner joined to the cable box/DVR also, so that I can burn a DVD directed off the cable broadcast or when playing back from the DVR.

I also have my DVD burner attached to my laserdisc player, too, so I can burn DVDs from laserdiscs if I need to as well.

I got home in time to watch the upcoming release of the 1961 Roger Corman film THE INTRUDER. Very politically hot for 1961 (concerning a Southern town's rebellion against integration) and a wonderful performance from William Shatner early in his career.

But Disney has done no digital clean-up on the film at all. It's filed with dirt, specks, black and white scratches (appropriate to the subject matter, I guess), and missing frames. It's in rough shape, but I'd never seen the film before, and it's certainly a coruscating view of racism.

The only bonus feature on the disc is a nine minute featurette with Roger Corman and William Shatner looking back on the making of the picture. Corman contended for years that this was the one film of his that lost money though he sheepishly claims that it has moved into the black after forty years due to reissues in Europe and home video releases.

I did have time to skim through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay storyline today and from the looks of tomorrow's preview, it's not going to be featured tomorrow either.

I just read that USA has renewed PSYCH for a third season of 16 episodes.

It had earlier also renewed BURN NOTICE for another season, so I am doubly happy about these renewals.
