TOD:   The entire first act of "L'Estat".  Nothing technical, although it was a tad rough during its run at the Curran Theater in San Francisco.

It's just that Act 1 was the worst theatrical disaster I ever witnessed, bar none.

Agreed. ;)

Although, I thought the finale in San Fran was also quite "rough".  Although, the six(!) different versions we tried in New York weren't relaly much better... just different.  :-\

I'm back to studying my Spanish again. I did a demo on Rosetta Stone's website.  It seems like a really good program.  Has anyone used it to learn a language?

Haven't used that...but just have a suggestion. If you have cable/satellite and get the Spanish channel... spend a week or so - or even more - just immersing yourself in the language - everything from news to their soaps to their movies. You learn a language a lot faster if you can immerse yourself in it for several hours a day.

I'm working on German... I've got a German version of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers stone, and audio CDs of the same book, also in German, so I can read along and see/hear how the words are pronounced properly - I'm finding that very helpful.

And when I need a lighter touch I try to read Mord auf dem Golfplatz, by Agatha Christie...

DR Cillaliz - I remember reading some arguments people had with the language learning theory behind the Rosetta program.  Not that it's not fine, but I'd definitely do a little research on the Internet before investing.

And, like DR 3D just stated, immersion is probably the most efficient and effective way!

DR Danise - Good to see you again.

Do you have a surge protector for your computer and modem set-up?

DR Cillaliz - I have a few friend who swear by the Rosetta Stone programs.  However, I also have some friends who swear by the Berlitz programs.  -And the new-ish computer-based Berlitz programs are certainly a lot cheaper than the Rosetta Stone programs.  -Maybe you could find a gently used program on e-Bay?

DR Miss Karen - What time do you get in tomorrow?  And do you have any plans for tomorrow night?  Or Monday at this point?  I believe I have a few bakeries and chocolate shops to show you.  -Oh, and I think we need to go clothes shopping for your dear Boo-Key too.

I want Monkey Cake!! ...  From the Enabler! ... The Lord willin' and the creek don't rise (and the airlines are running on time ...) I should arrive in NYC around 3-ish in the afternoon, but then taxi time, etc -- but hopefully by late afternoon I should be at the sublet on 44th.

What happened to Boo-Key's clothes?!

DR Jose ~ Then there's the opportunity for some adventure Wednesday after the Brain matinee with DR MusicGuy and DR Jeanne -- and we must get DR Jasmine, I mean, Jason at these events also. Where has he and his silly photos been as of late?!

Hello dear assorted and sun-dried H/Ks and studlies and lovelies!

Good evening dear Esteemed BK -- glad you're having a day to catch the breath!!

I've been getting some "end-of-the-month" stuff done (a little early) as I'll be away from my computer next week.  All pretty tedious desk business, but thank God I have it to do!

And, Wednesday afternoon, I shall be parking my svelte tusch in the venerable Acorn Theatre and reveling in will-benders, and brain-assistants, and Elmo orchestrations, and BK's creation!!

And then.... food !!!

Dearest cutie-buns..... You have to remember that you have only been awarded your "honorary card" and so you must trust your fairy-godmothers if sartorial advice is forthcoming.

Trust me....... (no, really!   ;) )

Well, I may just have to prepare a "Welcome To NYC" goody bag for you, DR Miss Karen.  -Especially, since I'm sure those chocolates are long gone by now.  If there ever were any chocolates.  ;)

Oh no dear.... you don't really mean "or those cookies."  "Or" is not allowed in the jojo restaurant experience of New York!

In fact, I recommended to jojo that we should do an "afternoon pick-me-up" around 3:00 PM on Wednesday, at The Little Pie Company !!

It's all depending on my progress with this Plaza Hotel piece!  I hope to have it finished by then.  The copyistswant it finished Monday morning!
