I don't know from red fuzzy stuff growing all over everything.  In the cabin yes, but I didn't see red fuzzy stuff anywhere else (unlike in "The War of the Worlds", Spielberg-style, in which the aliens were terraforming earth into a Martian landscape).

I know I must have read the book years ago, but I have no recollection of it.

Ack-ack!

Page 8.

No, I still won't.

Don't even suggest that I do.

It was all over the faces of the people they were keeping in the barn.  That's why the General wanted to kill them all.  They kept getting  reports from the doctors that it might not do anything but he didn't want to take the chance.  He menioned (both in the film and the book) they called it "Riply"--a nod to "Alien".

Anyway, it made no sense to me.  I just couldn't connect the dots.  I like some of Kings other work but this one did nothing for me.  I guess you can't please all of the people all of the time.  :)

Oh, and it was also all over the animals that were moving through the woods.  The dog ate part of a deer that had it--which was how he got the butt worm.  But the butt worms laid eggs so why they formed from the red stuff...

Arrrr.  I'm just going to have to forget about it.

If it's any consolation, "butt worms" isn't a term used iin the film if I recall correctly.

As for "The Point of Idle Chatter"...

My favorite Beatles' songs:
"Blackbird"
"Yesterday"
"Michelle"
"If I Fell"

As for Favorite Covers:
"Ticket To Ride" - The Carpenters
And basically all of the soundtrack to the movie, "I Am Sam".

I haven't caught up to this point, but what about Jane and Keith?  Or did they start this topic?

It all started because I made a comment when wishing Skip a happy birthday about partners who don't post and David (Singdaw) added to it (something about a support group for partners of HHW posters) and then Jose brought up the latest reference.

And as for "THE INEXORABILITY OF A TACO "...

RE: Taquitos - They've been around for a while.  Some places called/call them "rolled tacos".  In fact, there's a "rolled taco" join on Santa Monica Blvd., a few blocks away from the Hudson.  I had many a rolled taco/taquito there while I was working on What If?.  I think TGIFriday's or some other "Casual Dining" restaurant chain brought them into vogue over the past couple of years.

Hmm... I just received this bit of news from Local 802:

Quote
Despite failure to reach an overall settlement, Local 1 has agreed to take down its picketline at the St James Theatre and allow "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas" to re-open for its limited holiday run.We are awaiting confirmation that The Jujamcyn organization has ageed to resume performaces of the Grinch. We will post information on the Grinch schedule as soon as it becomes available. Musicians should also check with the show's in-house contractor.

DR George - If no one else has volunteered to tape the "Holiday In Bryant Park"....

Thanks!  I'm not at home so I can't remember, but I think someone else also volunteered to record this, also.  But if you wouldn't mind being a back-up (just in case), I'd appreciate that. :D I'll let you know for sure when I get home tonight after rehearsal.

RE: Toots Thielman - BK, your post reminded me that I'm still need to track down the recording/CD of Toots' rendition of "I Ain't Down Yet" from The Unsinkable Molly Brown".  I remember hearing on the radio a couple of years ago, and just breaking out in a big smile right then and there.
