DR RLP, I don't believe that I said anything at all about anyone's right to free speech, nor would I ever.
No, you didn't. In fact --
"... those two photos referring to the "Bear" situation that you posted are rather tacky and certainly do not help the situation that they are directed towards. It may be difficult for some to understand the point of view of the population that are offended by that, but to add fuel to the fire does nobody any good."...is a statement in which you were exercising the freedom of speech while, at the same time, possibly suggesting you don't believe the drawer of the cartoon should have exercised "his" freedom of speech out of deference to the silent majority
My post was my exercising "my" freedom of speech in pointing out that such cartoons are intended to provoke debate, humor, disgust, whatever. But they have their place in "our" society still, thank GOD.
And then you also wrote:
...And considering how upset another DR, who is very close to you, was last week over a political joke that was taken as quite a personnal insult, I would think you would have thought this out better.
'nuff said.So...you are suggesting here that he should be ashamed of posting those pictures in light of what went down regarding S. Woody's reactions to something totally unrelated?
You are censuring him by saying that der Brucer must be held accountable for S. Woody's posts? (And vice-versa?)
You seem to be stating that der Brucer is not his own person and should not have the freedom to post his opinions without having to worry about you, or someone else, holding some grudge about S. Woody's reactions to something else over his head?
You ruined your argument with that.
And by using it, IMO, you come off as some bully attempting to belittle der Brucer by making him feel ashamed for having an opinion and daring to express it in view of his life partner's reactions to a political comment last week.
