Put your husky on a leash and walk around the yard for twenty-minutes three times a day. . .

Nope, the laws of Hainsie-Kimlet behavior in this regard are finite:  One DR selects another DR on whom to bestow a gift and then DR Sender posts to the world that the gift is on the way.

The DR Receiver must, upon receipt, post to all the world that he or she just received a gift from DR Sender and thank him or her effusively.

And the world goes round....

Around 4:35 my phone rang and it was the multi-talented Robert Grusecki. I had forgotten I had a date with him and his wonderful wife Anya Tucker at 4. I've been a huge fan of their songs, and DR Jose and I saw their show GREETINGS FROM YORKVILLE.  I grabbed a taxi, met them at Cafe LaFortuna on West 71st Street, and had a wonderful two-hour visit with them.  I now have a copy of their songbook, and I recommend them to everyone.

DR Nursie, a region 2 DVD is European and will not play in a standard USA/Canada Region 1 DVD player.  Is your DVD player one that will play any region or only Region 1?  If your answer is multiregional, you win the sparkling prize and BK will have to do without. However, I know that he and DR MBarnum both have nonregional player, but I'm not sure about other DRs.  I await your answer, O lovely Jane.

As for the Topic of the Day...

I've actually grown fond of waiting until the last minute to by my Christmas gifts.  I remember going out on December 24th a couple years ago, thinking that the stores would be mobbed, and the shelves empty, but the stores I went to were not mobbed and they all had adequate stock.  So...  However, I also don't really mind the crowds at the stores and malls - heck, it's Christmas, the stores are supposed to be crowded.  Additionally, sometimes those crowds can be a source of entertainment, as it were - love that people watching!

There were a few years when I would try to buy something for everybody on my list, but that really just got way too out of hand for me.  Over the past couple of years, I've just bought presents for my nieces and nephews, and a couple of friends.  My brothers and I started drawing names a couple years ago in order to solve that "problem".  I also gave up on making lists of possible presents since each time I would hit the stores and find that present, I would then look to the left or right of that present and find something better, more appropriate.  Thankfully(?), John Michael, Alexandra and Alyssa actually like going shopping, so they usually just ask for Gift Cards from Santa (preferably from Target).  And I have to say, that all three of them actually know how to shop, and they end up using their gift cards to buy clothes(!).

Now, if you want to talk about Christmas Cards, well... I continue to buy a few boxes each year, but only manage to send out about a dozen each season.  At least I have a nice selection of cards.  ;)

Hmm... That brings up a semi-random question...

When I was growing up, they had a "Husky" section for boy's clothes in the stores.  Was/is there an equivalent section in the girl's clothes section?  And what was it called?

And congrats Penny, on the writing courses!

Yes, I had a few concerns about that.  Penny offers to teach some writing classes, and the next day the writing professor is dead!

I am just grateful that she didn't offer to become an actor in Tacoma.

But, perhaps she could offer to be Larry's sister-in-law! Sorry, just a thought.

Half sizes....  "regular" sizes were 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, etc  then there was the 'wider cut" 12 1/2, 14 1/2 etc

The evening game plan:

8-10 Tape HD broadcasts of Chuck - Heroes

8-10 Watch HD broadcast of The Closer (so I can irritate everybody with spoliers!!!)

10-11 - Watch HD broadcast of Life

11-1 - Watch Tin Man Part II

How was Tin Man Part 1?

Nice scheduling!

What?

No "Huskettes"?

No "Big Girls"?

No "Pleasantly Plush"?
