HEROES had some great surprises including those who appeared to be "killed." Of course, on a show like HEROES, one never assumes ANYONE dies, but certainly I wouldn't shed a tear if one of the two who appeared dead really was. As for the other, I would be heartsick.

Chapter 2 went wrong by introducing some new characters who (so far) have added only filler to the show and not much else. I think Kristin Bell has potential to be something more than she's been given to do thus far, but Maya is a total washout for me, and I was disappointed that it wasn't she who was selected for immolation.

I couldn't disagree more strongly with DR Ron Pulliam about Sylar. I think he's a great villain, and since I know he's filming the STAR TREK movie now, wasn't expecting him to be much around the next chapter. That's why the start of Chapter 3 surprised me so much.

There is Nip/Tuck! surgery.

Then there is Smash/Bash! surgery!

Not so golden years: Knots Landing actress Joan Van Ark's attempts to hold back the years with cosmetic procedures appears to have backfired

der Brucer

Actually, she looked like that back when they were filming the series.  Proper lighting corrects so much - it's those flourescent lights that are a killer.

I know you think they're devine, but wings are a bit much.

I suppose you think I made a typo. Think again!

(But I swear I never sexually harrassed any of my cats!)

Chinese Cat grows wings

Granny Feng's tom cat has sprouted two hairy 4ins long wings, reports the Huashang News.

"At first, they were just two bumps, but they started to grow quickly, and after a month there were two wings," she said.

Feng, of Xianyang city, Shaanxi province, says the wings, which contain bones, make her pet look like a 'cat angel'.

Her explanation is that the cat sprouted the wings after being sexually harassed.

"A month ago, many female cats in heat came to harass him, and then the wings started to grow," she said.

However, experts say the phenomenon is more likely down to a gene mutation, and say it shouldn't prevent the cat living a normal life.

Dakota, I just read the message about your father. I'm so sorry to hear that, but I'm glad that he is out of pain; I know the last few months have been so tough for him and for all of you. Vibes of comfort from Atlanta.

"Life"

SPOILER

A very interesting show with the always-terrific Damian Lewis as Charlie Crews.  Part I of a two-parter didn't seem, at first, to be heading toward any kind of conflict that would merit a second part.  But the writing is always deceptive and it was the ongoing subplot of Crews' private investigation into whose time "he" served for 12 years...and who really killed his friends...that never fails to hold my attention.

I'm totally anticipating tomorrow night's episode!

Don;t get to attached. It is going on Hiatus. It will be replaced by a newsmagine type show

Some news just gleaned from VARIETY.

The original LAW & ORDER returns to NBC in January, and to its Wednesday at 10 p.m. slot. LAW & ORDER: CRIMINAL INTENT will move over from USA to NBC and be shown at 9 p.m. CI will start with reruns that have been shown on USA (but not in HD) and then continue with other episodes not already aired on USA.

BIONIC WOMAN and LIFE will go an hiatus until the strike's resolution is either reached or obviously lasting longer than expected.

JERICHO will return to CBS in the Tuesday at 10 p.m. slot currently occupied by CANE. BIG BROTHER will be airing three shows a week (like its summer run). CBS plans to simply use reruns of its highly rated crime dramas since the reruns draw better than average ratings.

VARIETY's review of SWEENEY TODD is very, very positive. The show has been cut down from three hours to 117 minutes, but according to the review, the music now carries the show even more than in the theater. What's been cut are some book scenes and some verses of the songs which the reviewer thought didn't hurt the impact of the music at all. And all of the actors got positive marks for their acting and singing.

Makes me ever-more curious to see what the finished product looks like.

For long-time DRs: JMK, WEL, Jane amd François

ex DR Allan Wood (Bournemouth UK)from the old board, lost his partner to cancer on Saturday. John was a lovely man - DP Colin and I would never have met John nor Allan had it not been for the HHW World.

I am so sorry to hear this, but grateful indeed that Allan has remained in touch with friends made here.

While I'm not a coloratura whose husband took French leave with the payroll, I think I could probably find work in a kitchen watching dishes or something.

As it true of any currently running show with writers, one must expect "hiatus" in each and every case.

As for "Life", NBC picked it up for a complete season.  I fully expect that contract will be honored regardless of when the strike ends.

DR Ron Pulliam, the DVD of LIFE arrived today.  Thank you so much.

I'm down to three band parts now, and I think I will be ready for tomorrow night's rehearsal.

This afternoon, I had a wonderful phone call from London.  Miss Kim Criswell invited me to an engagement party on Fifth Avenue and 72nd Street on Dec. 14.  The party throwers apartment is the entire 14th floor of the building. I wonder if I'll need a blood test?

I've been reading mostly positive reviews, too, but I'm not impressed with the singing, at all. :P On the official website, www.sweeneytoddmovie.com, there are sound clips (and I think the entire "A Little Priest") and there's no intensity, no variation, no "acting" in their voices...in my humble opinion. :-\ And they both just sound too young.

I didn't think there was any acting in Madonna's voice on the EVITA soundtr, either.  As to their ages, weare taling about London of the 1830s or 40s when I doubt the average lower-class life span was no more than 45 or 50!
