In other news...
Our landlord has been working on refurbishing the exterior of the building over the past couple of weeks. Well, she's been having the work done on the weekends, starting around 8:00am Saturday
and Sunday morning. Well, I guess they started on the top floor - with the aid of some scaffolding - and have been working their way down. This morning, they were working on the ground floor, street level... right outside my windows and bedroom door. And, yes, they started at 8:00am.
Alas, it was not the noise that first woke me up, it was the smell of something chemical. At first I thought the gas was leaking, then after hearing some scraping and scuffing outside, I realized it the was stuff they were using to clean the concrete off with before they started touching up the grout/cement/whatever it's called. -And there's a proper term for that too - capping -

In any case...
I then got out of bed, and opened my bedroom door in order to help the fumes circulate. Then they started repainting the window casings and the door. More fumes. Ugh!
So, I got up again, drowsily made my way to the kitchen, and started making breakfast. And then since our own internet was down this morning, I headed out to get a copy of the Times. Then once our internet was back up, I found that HHW was down, so...
But the fumes have dissipated, and all is well on the 'net now.
