I had a wonderful afternoon with Charlotte at ENCHANTED and I'm puttering about the apartment triling the "Happy Working Song." Danny Troob's arrangements and orchestrations are spot-on, completely glorious. As a bonus, we noticed SWEENEY TODD posters around the lobby so after the film we went to the box and - sure enough - purchased tickets for the Friday showing at 1 pm. We are both very excited about this turn of events

I got all my gifts wrapped for both gift exchange dinners on Wednesday and Thursday nights. And I got all this done while enjoying some of my favorite programming.

I began my afternoon of viewing with last night's CSI: MIAMI. The CSIs had a lot of rotten apples to sort through, and all of the suspects seemed damaged. None of them were completely blameless in the death of the CI.

Next, I finished WHITE CHRISTMAS which I had started last night and gotten about 25 minutes into.

This transfer looks OK, but it could certainly do with an update. The technology has improved so much since this was brought over to DVD.

Good Afternoon!

Well, we ended up with at least 26 Equity men, a few straggling Equity women, and a handful of non-Equity men this afternoon. And what an afternoon it was! There are no words to describe that parade of talent that came through that door between 2:00pm and 3:15pm. Well, there are plenty of words to describe what came in and what "happened", but since I'm not one to dwell on the negative. I'm just sayin'.

However, one gentlemen who came in turned out to be the former artistic director of the company that gave me my first real, professional job as a musical director. So that was cool.

I did not scream, but I was not a happy camper. Even as a little kid (I was probably 5 or 6 years old) it seemed to me to be rather unneccesary and mean. It wasn't like I even played with them anymore, but I did still enjoy having them.

After that I did keep my favorite toys hidden.

DR elmore - I wish I was in town this Friday to catch "Sweeney Todd" with you. I do plan to watch down in Richmond, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the crowds down there will not be as big as the crowds up here. At least I'll have room to stretch out.

BK, I'm curious as to the title of the Lobo/Buarque you have. Both Cambaio and Album de Teatro show either collaborative efforts, or solo, at least in terms of the writing. There's nothing with music by Edu and words by Chico. I'm wondering if there's something new out or I have something filed somewhere else that I'm not remembering.

And after the auditions were completed, I walked up to the Virgin Megastore in Times Square and purchased a copy of the "Sweeney Todd" soundtrack. For some reason, I was expecting the special edition to have two CDs. Instead, it's just the 80-page book, plus some extra tracks on the CD (to make it "complete".

As an added bonus, it turned out anyone purchasing a copy of the soundtrack also got a copy of the movie poster.
