Yes, my bad, Sean YOUNG, but after all Ridley Scott is adamantly refusing to name her, so my faux pas can be forgiven, hopefully.   ;D

In fact, right after I posted that BEAN comment, Scott goes on a long discussion about testing Sean YOUNG without ever once calling Sean YOUNG by name.  ;)  Bizarre.

Have I mentioned that I am reviewing Mr. YOUNG's Holiday, starring Rowan BEAN?  Oh, never mind.

DR TCB, I hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself. Pneumonia in any form is not something to toy with.

DR Michael S, basically a progressive image repeats the image twice while an interlaced image doesn't. The repetition happens in nanoseconds, and the repeated image registers in our brains as a slightly smoother and sharper picture. But unless you have a super large screen, it's likely you won't notice any difference at all.

Just finished the "new, improved" Blade Runner, starring Sean CONNERY, Sean PENN, Sean ASTIN, Sean HAYES, Sean "P. Diddy" COMBS, and Sean Patrick FLANERY, to (mis)name but a few.  Can't say it's any major improvement.  Though people seem to hate the orginal theatrical release, it's still my favorite version, probably because it was the first one I saw.

And I found CASINO ROYALE very exciting apart from the poker stuff which went on too long. The Blu-ray looks simply smashing. That's a film I'd like to revisit over the holidays. I haven't watched it in many months.

I began my evening with SCROOGE and enjoyed it though it, too, is in need of a new transfer. It's sharp enough, but color could be a tad stronger, and the blacks are milky throughout.

Next, I watched HARRY POTTER AND THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN. I just loved it on Blu-ray. Very sharp with excellent color and wonderful depth to the image.

And I finished the evening with tonight's BOSTON LEGAL. The cases weren't anything to write home about. Candice Bergen was nowhere to be seen.

Yikes! I go away for a day and people start posting like the wind. Argh---I will never catch up.

But I do have to first wish a big Happy Birthday to DtM, and to PennyO, whom I had the pleasure to meet just a mere 2 weeks ago. What a deelite!

And tonight I came home to 2 wonderful things---the first being the illuminated reindeer grazing in the woods in front of our house. These came with the house and although I had wanted to put them out, we weren't set up for it, power-wise.

Greg had been thinking about it and although he was very sick today (he caught what I am just getting rid of) he decided to surprised me with the reindeer. So now we don't look like the Scrooge family anymore in our new neighborhood, which seems to have every house decorated.

Surprise #2 was a delightfully tempting box of chocoate Godiva goodness from Elmore, Man of Danger. I and holding off until tomorrow when my best friend is here, and I'm sure we shall polish them off between the 3 of us.

Oh, well since Greg is sick and he can't taste anything, surely he wouldn't be interested! Heheheh...

Jose, the concert sounds like it was wonderful. And thanks for the Carnegie Hall link. (Makes me want a Starbucks!)

I haven't been to the ground-level hall since it was a movie theatre (I was there when they reopened it as a theatre in the late 80's) but I always thought it would be more suited to concerts because of its "aspect ratio". I'd like to hear a concert there.

I did win a trip to NY once to hear our Atlanta Symphony in Carnegie Hall. People had been bitching for years about how bad the accoustics were in our hall, but I never realized how right they were until I heard our group in Carnegie Hall. Wow! I thought "So that's what they're talking about"!

I love to go there on Memorial Day, when they have those big choral requiem concerts.

I did flip over during commercials of BOSTON LEGAL to watch some of MAHAGONNY on PBS-HD. The broadcast looked simply wonderful though the sound was rather distant-sounding. I'm not familiar with the piece at all, but you certainly could tell it was Kurt Weill music.

So many good choices of title songs.  I do love mostly any Bacharach title song, and After The Fox is great.  I think I wrote the liner notes for the After The Fox CD - did I?  I'll have to look.  I know I did two, and I know the other was Irma La Douce.

There's also "Up The Junction" and "Ferry Cross The Mersey"
