So... My friend, Jeremy, called me around 7:00.  He had just gotten back into town after spending the holidays with his family, and wanted to grab a bite to eat with someone who was not a relative. ;)  So, I headed on down to 91st Street, and we ended up at Ollie's for some surprisingly good Chinese food, and some truly sparkling and sometimes scandalous conversation.  *We both decided to order an item off the menu that we thought the other person would not like, and in the process we both found two new favorites.  -Jeremy actually speaks a bit Chinese, so I have no idea what he ordered for me - or if it was even on the menu, but I know it was something pork-y with leeks.  And I liked it.  ;)

After dinner, I headed to the subway, but since it was such a gorgeous night out, I went ahead and walked the 50 blocks home.

....I'm currently watching "Law & Order: SVU"... The perp has a familiar name. ;)

Someone on L&O SVU has it in for me.  Hated the actress playing the FBI agent.

You're not an ignoramus, nor should you feel like one.
Some of us have very trivial minds which soak up things like a sponge; sometimes those useless bits of trivia can come in handy.

Thank you, TD. I've never been a mainstream person--and am happy with that. I find, though, that it is useful sometimes to have at least a nodding acquaintance with things currant. After all, I don't have to like them!

As for the Topic of the Day....

I think these are far out enough of the mainstream:

"A Home At The End of the World"
"The History Boys"
"We Don't Live Here Anymore"
"You Can Count On Me"

I just had the muse Margaret call I've been waiting on pins and needles for and I'm happy to say she is loving the book.  She was very specific about certain sequences and lines, and it made me very, very happy.  She only had two little suggestions, both excellent - one for a slight change in a line because she felt the imagery I'd used wasn't funny enough, and I came up with its replacement as we were speaking and its much better, and one thing where I'd mentioned someone's clothing and she wanted it described, which I'll do later tonight.  So, I'll be mushing on with the book tomorrow and catch up with what I didn't do today.  Again, I actually will be keeping pace because I was at least ten pages ahead of where I thought I'd be.  So, I'm a happy lad this very evening.

Can someone send me that pork and leeks thing.  Or, I could just steal it - have you ever taken a leek?

... In fact, you can download a PDF of TONY's 100 Best Food and Drink list from their website for easier storage in your bag, purse and/or wallet.  :)

Why would we need to when we have you, Jose?

Listening to a CD and when it's over I'll enter the two little changes, then see if I feel like writing a page or two.

For some of us, that would be the opening sentence of a lurid tale of adventure.

Nah, Alfred Molina, at least in The Hoax.  Isn't it interesting that the Irving book came out in 1981 and it only took 26 years for someone to realize "Oh, there's a movie in this."  Hollywood.  I gotta tell you.

BK, regarding the YouTube Vidoes:
I use this program:  http://youtubedownload.altervista.org/

It saves them as flash videos, then you can convert them to whatever format you want them in.
I have burned a dvd of the Dorothy Loudon clips, which I converted to Windows Video Media after having saved them.
I havent' dvd-ed the FOLLIES clips, though I have them saved onto my computer.

I listened to a CD tonight;  I wasn't impressed with Mel Brooks' YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN.

Well, Alfred Molina is nicknamed Fred.

And you've never seen us in the same room, except when I've been in the audience and he's been onstage.

So, I guess that means the musical version will start workshopping in 2015.  ???

Well, td, I think we've just discovered the answer - download the Loudon clips, and the Lansbury Gypsy clips and burn them onto a DVD for me. :)
