When I used to work with elementary and high school students in Virginia and Maryland, I was required to get fingerprinted and checked for past criminal activity each year I was with the program.  And, of course, I had to go to my nearest police precinct to get the fingerprinting done. :-\

I can understand background checks and fingerprinting, we use the same things for employees of Children's Services, but the UA for a choir director still seems strange.

I'll have to find out later.  I have some errands to run before rehearsal tonight.  Until later!

Does that help any? Bottom line, it's always the money trail that gets you. Income tax evasion, structuring etc.

Thanks, it does help.

One would think he would be aware of all this ::)

A wise decision.  And avoids the possibility of inadvertently consuming "spoiled" rough trade.  ;)

;D  He would if he didn't have any other source of income except from his wife.

Isn't Spitzer's wife a lawyer?  I don't know if she practices, but I thought I heard on a report last night that they were in law school together

Here's a story about Silda Wall Spitzer in happier times http://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/10/nyregion/10silda.html?_r=1&oref=slogin

She's a former corporate lawyer and former in-house counsel for Chase Manhattan Bank.  She could do just fine on her own.

I imagine there would be a big shock factor if she didn't know about this before and probably some "What do I do now?" going on. I could see standing by him until that was figured out.

That is Allen who often makes deliveries at our house, not as often as in the past.

Allen delivers for Fed Ex with a barrel of spirits around his neck?

Hmm...

Some friends want to fix me up on a blind date... And it turns out the person they want to fix me up with is a restauranteur... Who happens to manage two pretty nice restaurants here in NYC... Hmmm...
Just two restaurants?  How limiting!   ;)

At least he'd understand goofus hours!

...Gasoline prices are surely going to increase some more - ...

And remember, many activists (me included) would like to see the Federal Government slap an additional $1.00/gallon tax on gasoline to act as a prod toward reducing fossile fuel consumption as part of an overall energy program.

der Brucer
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!!!!!!!

Not living here in Rehoboth, you don't take a stance like that!!!

We're dependent upon tourist bucks here in this resort town, in case you've forgotten.  The pricier it is for tourists to travel from place to place, the less likely it is for the tourists to travel at all.  WE NEED THEIR MONEY!!!

And yes, that includes me, a supermarket checker.  We've already been through three summers of wonderfully busy working, and have made it somehow through three winters of very slack work hours.  The last thing we want is for the tourists to stay away!  WE WANT THEM HERE!!!  SPENDING MONEY AT OUR STORES, NOT AT THE GAS PUMP!!!

Lower gas prices is good for the economy!

And since when does FOSSIL have an extra E on the end?

Bad puppy!

You know, I never really thought there really was a bedbug.  I just thought it was something you said--"Sleep tight, Don't let the bedbugs bite."

If anything, I thought they were from back when people used straw and "bedbugs" were fleas or some such.

Who knew?

That's what I'm talking about.
