Ginny (or any other audio book fans) - were you familiar with Anna Fields who died tragically last year?   I have heard people say that she was one of the best.

DR TCB - I was not familiar with Anna until hearing the NPR report about her death.  I've been meaning to listen to something of hers, so I just placed a reserve for Joyce Carol Oates' The Falls.

And I am awaiting a call from Jason to let me know when to come over and meet the newest Iraqi arrivals...Maan and his wife Hoda, 5 year old son Mustafa and 2 year old daughter Hiba.

Rod (neighbor from across the street who is moving) gave me some items for them and Rod's daughter gave me some of her stuffed animals for the kids, all of which, along with some household items I just purchased and some State of Oregon job announcements/applications, will go over tonight with me.

Is anyone as tired of this Spitzer news stuff as I am?? Before all of this I had never even heard of him, and even if he were the Gov. of Oregon, I wouldn't not care so much about it.

Maybe it is just me, or maybe I just don't like his face. I don't know.

MBarnum I'm now seeing more news regarding the, soon to be, new governor.  He seems interesting, in a good way.

What do our HHW New Yorkers think of him?

It's because the press takes one piece of news and beats it to death.

How many of us could even name the lieutenant governor of our state?

Just be glad you're not living in New York City.

After his first new conference where he admitted to having done "something", the coverage was non-stop.  Heck, the ABC affiliate even pre-empted "Oprah" for a full hour of "continuing coverage".  Of course, since the 5:00 news follows "Oprah", well... Then came two more hours of coverage.  UGH!

Having "continuous coverage" of two two-minutes statements is just plain stupid.

Of course, now that the "girl" has come forward with her sob story.... OY!

LOL-I thought of that as I made my last post.  I don't know who the replacement would be.

Since I don't remember voting for one, I looked it up..
"If the office of governor becomes vacant, the office passes, in order, to the secretary of state, state treasurer, president of the Senate and speaker of the House of Representatives. There is no lieutenant governor in Oregon."

I can't believe you ever get near a news broadcast so they must be interrupting your viewing.  Besides, Spitzer's not your type.
