Name The Movie (in which this line was spoken):

"Wouldn't you just die without Mahler!"

Educating Rita. I love that movie

Very interesting. I will have to A/B them.

Do you ever hear melodic "similarities" in popular songs? I hear them all the time. I posted this on Youtube:

Good clips, Bretty.  I feel the same way about the songs IT'S IMPOSSIBLE by Perry Como; and THE WAY OF LOVE by Cher.

I liked your "Short and Sweet" on youtube, DR BrettySpaghetti!

Be sure to listen to "Memory" closely after listening to MADAMA BUTTERFLY, too.   ;)

OMG! You are so right. I never noticed that before!

I was complaining the other day about Sondheim stealing (bizarrely) "No One Is Alone" from "The Candy Man." What's up with that? I was not the only person who noticed that, either.

Well, if you listen to any of the Meyerbeer operas, you'll hear lots of familiar melodies.  ;)  -And since Meyerbeer operas are rarely performend, well... Maybe that's "why", if you get my drift.

Are those Oscar Meyerbeer?

Had I not known it was EDUCATING RITA, I would have guessed Ken Russell's LISZTOMANIA just for the hell of it.  8)

There's comfort in candy, there's comfort in Sondheim.  Even when Nancy LaMott sings "No One is Alone," I still hear "The Candy Man."

I watched an interesting mess of a movie last night called Unconditional Love, featuring actors as diverse as Rupert Everett, Kathy Bates, Barry Manilow, Dan Ackroyd, and Julie Andrews.

I liked this movie.  And the woman who played Kathy Bates' daughter-in-law is hysterical!  She went on to a recurring role in "Boston Legal."

Well....Miss Blue Moon is suffering from cancer of the lymph glands.  She is home and on steroids and other medication, but the prognosis is not good....it is down to time left....a few months, I guess.

But they will be good ones for her.

~~~SUPER VIBES FOR DD MISS BLUE MOON AND DR JRAND!!~~~
I have been so busy the past few afternoons, answering the phone and doing such things that I am not getting my work done and am going crazy!!  So I called Martha/Edith this afternoon and asked when she's ready to go full time.  She couldn't talk then because she was at her other job, but she sounded pleased and I said we could talk about it in the morning.  I think it will really help me get my work done if she is there all day.   She has said in the past she wants to do it, so I'm hoping she really does.
I don't know, but I need new glasses too.  I was considering making an appointment today but forgot to do it.
It's a little past time for my eye appointment.  I want to get new frames...it'll be the first time in several years.  I don't think my prescription has changed much, if at all. :)
DR Ginny, what is the difference between Classic Brach's & what is in the stores.  I only buy Jelly Belly, when I do buy jelly beans, and then it is difficult to find the bins where you can choose the flavors.  I'm picky about my flavors. ;D
Classic flavors - lemon, orange, lime, grape, cherry, licorice, etc.  My family is definitely not into buttered popcorn, cappuccino, mango, or any other "gourmet" type jelly beans.  In the stores, I was finding spicy, sour, tropical, etc.  Finally found the classics at Walgreen's, where, for some reason, they wouldn't accept my CVS card.
