Well Bill O'Reilly would not agree! He feels Rosie's cruises are a symptom of the secular - progressive attempts to foist the homosexual life style on the American public.

Seems he just now "diccovered" gay cruises. Woody and I went on one over 20 years ago! A souveier of that cruise "Buster" -  a stuffed teddy bear with a leather vest is watching me as I type. Woody used to take Buster on all our trips and sit him on a window sill to take in the view. We retuned to one hotel room to find that the turn-down clerk had propped Buster up in bed next to the mints!

DR Jane - Mostly we try to go places where we can bring Zach along.  On occasion, we've left him with my mother or with the friend that owns Cody, who we've boarded at our house on occasion.  They get along fine, so that works out well.  A kennel would be the last resort.

Nice set up.

We don't really have that option, plus one of these days we want to take a road trip, with Sherlock.  There is always the possibility we might have to board him for a few hours if it is too hot to leave him in a car.  So, we are trying this out to see what happens, at least to introduce him to a kennel.  

We would gladly leave him with a friend & their dog, if said friend had a nice flat enclosed yard for the dogs to play in.  Sherlock shouldn't run on uneven ground unsupervised.  The hassles of leaving him really relate to this darn joint problem, he is doing great & we want to keep him that way.

Not that we want to leave him, he is a joy to travel with.

What do you do with Zach when you travel?

Zach probably shares Singdaw's crate.

...one of these days we want to take a road trip, with Sherlock.  There is always the possibility we might have to board him for a few hours if it is too hot to leave him in a car.  

Think of the fun we had driving  across country with all five of the dogs in the car! Fortunately they were well behaved in Motels. I had seen most of the touristy stuff, so I was able to watch the tribe while Woody poked around - they really like the trails at the Grand Canyon. We were willing to leave them alone in the car for meals when we could find a restaurant with window seating so we could keep an eye on them. (They were all very good at patiently waiting.) Marty and Kelsy had been used to going on shopping excursions in Long Beach and were accustomed to being left in a car for short spells - they set the stage for the other dogs to realize they were not being abandoned and to just relax and enjoy the view - Marty's confidence that we would return was key.

Thanks.  I keep thinking about securing my shelves, but have never done so.  Now that my CDs and DVDs are in aluminum cases, the only thing that will topple is the shelves and the unbreakables I keep on them.

But...they pose a dangerous obstacle if I need to get out of the condo.  I keep "thinking" about such things, though.

Well stop thinking and do something about it~!

LOL-5 dogs in the car could get a bit crowded.  We put the seats down in the back of the SUV & Sherlock stretches out with a special treat, followed by a nap until we return.  The windows are tinted so we figure no one is going to know he is in there.

I guess I didn't realize that Phyllis Kirk had passed away.  Nor, was I aware that she had problems walking, as a result of polio.

It was a small paragraph or two in a biography of Peter Lawford that I read YEARS ago - and until then I hadn't noticed that Lawford himself had a paralyzed right hand.  He always held something in that hand or kept it in his pocket or at his side.  He couldn't uncurl his fingers.

Well, here's a friendly "hint" of sorts...

A friend of mine is coming in from Toronto tomorrow afternoon, and he spent some time today buying theatre tickets for some shows this week.  When he checked first thing this morning, nothing "good" was available for anything he wanted to see this week.  Well... Around 2:00, he checked Roundabout's site, and, lo and behold, he was able to get a first row, Front Mezz seat for Wednesday night performance of Sunday in the Park with George - with the discount code!  Then he just checked about an hour ago for tickets for South Pacific, and he was able to get a front row, Center Loge seat for tomorrow night's performance.  -And I just checked myself, and there were fourth row, Center Orchestra seats available for Wednesday's matinee!  Both performances were listed as "No Tickets Available" earlier today.  (Alas, no discounts, but still...)  -Oh, and he got a fifth row orchestra seat - on the aisle - for Gypsy on Thursday night.

-It's all in the timing!

Keith's aunt and cousin want to see South Pacific any day from May 12 to May 16.  Does anyone have any other suggestions?

What's amazing to me is that "Midnight Cowboy" isn't on the list when it was the last (IIRC) film to ever receive an X rating from the MPAA.

Poor Buster! His place of honor used to be atop the piano (a studio upright). Whenever we left the hosue, Fletcher would climb up a take Buster down and undress him! He never tore the vest or ripped up Buster - just left the vest in one spot, Buster in another. Unfortuneatey in all the mouthing Buster did loose both his eyes
