Wouldn't totatoes have been more apt to have given you gout?   ;D

Probably not gout....but possibly tomato slush between the toes.

When there's moist dirt there, it's called "toe jam" down South.

If tomato slush was there, I'm guessing it would be called "tozpacho"!

I've seen a driver or two with cell phone to ear while driving.

No police in sight, though.

Isn't it a "secondary offence," meaning the idiots can't be given tickets for this unless they're pulled over for other infractions, first?

DerB: Hmm. I checked again all the Saturdays, and the last Saturday they have those flights is Aug 16. I am going after that.  Grr.

Laura, have you called US Air by phone and asked about Saturdays?

Not in California.  The fines are pretty stiff, too -- $20 for first offense PLUS a $55 administrative fee.

The fine can go as high as $200 on subsequent offenses.

Also in effect today, drivers under 18 may not use a cell phone in a car even with an earphone (i.e., hands free).

Who can say why a given day seems slower than others.

It depends upon moods, I suppose.

Moods and internal madness (especially in my case).

I can just post on and on....

But not today.

No excessive verbiage from me.

Even DR wangchung has been busier than usual today, tying up loose ends.

Personally, I'm wondering if he's got some pre-nuptial jitters.

TOD:

Look at this photo: besides looking like a bad Irish play, does this photo say anything about dieting tips/tricks????

I see nothing wrong with your photo, elmore.

Cillaliz, you're on a roll. Sickness agrees with you!

My first day back I never wear make up and wear a shirt that makes my face look pale.  Everyone looks at me and says "Are you sure you're feeling better?"  then they cut me slack and no one is upset I didn't get anything done the day before.  oops! I'm giving my secrets away

One does have to wonder how many bad Irish plays Elmo has seen and loved.

Another good day of rehearsal.  And another day that we finished an hour early.

The Man from RUG will be in tomorrow morning for a few more hours before he heads back to London, and then it's back to the two other shows that this cast has learned.  -And since we finally got our last cast member today...

*And we were also informed today that the head of Entertainment for Norwegian Cruise Lines will be coming to our run-thru on Thursday.  Excited and scared.  -Well, I'm not, but my cast better be!  ;)

Yes, but when you are a trial lawyer, it's the judges and their secretaries who can either make your life nice or miserable

I left early and went shopping for the trip to the lake. I'm taking the pop and chips, that was easy, but I got a lot of it. We'll have 20 people for dinner on Thursday and even more for fireworks later.  They shoot them off of a barge in the middle of the lake. It's really cool to see. On the fourth we're having another 20 or so people over, so that will be more pop and chips.  Hope I bought enough!  I'm really looking forward to this trip.

Sounds like over all you're having a great experience, DR Jose

It really hasn't been all that bad.  The only "bad" part has been having to deal with performers who seem to not like performing.  Most of my notes after today's run-thru were, "Please smile! Please look like you know and like what you're doing!"  And it really is amazing just how much better someone seems when they actually look like they're having a good time.  *And they still don't get that when they are the one or two people not smiling, that our attention automatically goes to them.  A frown catches the eye in a sea of smiles.

Yes, the days have been long, but they've been very leisurely paced, and the "stager" I've been working with really knows her stuff, and is a great teacher.

Now if we could just have internet access at the rehearsal hall, well...

*Maybe I should make that a requirement for my next contract with them.  ;)

DR Ginny - Is there anything special about your diet over the next couple of weeks?  I'm just curious what foods you have to avoid, and what foods they encourage you eat.

re: Nutrisystem.

It seems sort of expensive. But i do think it would be much cheaper than eating out every day.

I personally would LOVE to try this.

The concept seems so odd to me though. How on earth do they send food that does not need to be refrigerated? And when you microwave it
it ends up looking delicious.

Who told you it looks delicious?

And for the Topic of the Day...

Eat Breakfast!

Drink water throughout the day.  -It will help to help you feel full so that you don't indulge.  (Hopefully.)

Don't eat after 6:00pm or 7:00pm - depending on your daily schedule.

Exercise each day.  -And, remember, exercise can include either a jog or a nice walk.
