I began my afternoon viewing with another BURN NOTICE episode. This was the one guest starring Esai Morales (whom I love) as a shop owner having to pay protection money to a local gang (led by a cutthroat woman), and Michael became a one many crazy gang of his own. Superb episode.

Next I went back to THE CLOSER's disc 1 and watched the bonus features: the gag reel and the featurette on the art of the interrogation.

Since I was there, I also rewatched the wonderful episode with the haughty bride. I still wish Brenda had been allowed to deck that bitchy, snooty girl.

I spent the remainder of the afternoon watching TV FUNHOUSE. I got four of the eight episodes watched. Each one has commentary, so I listened to some of that, too.

The show is very hit and miss, mostly a parody of a kid's TV show but with animal friends called "Anipals" who have nothing much on their minds except having sex and making poop jokes.

There are some fun cartoons, though. Wonderman is Superman except he uses his X-ray vision for X-rated things.

Marvelous Mitchell is Dennis the Menace who's a mean, bigoted kid.

Steadman is, who else, Oprah's superpowered boy friend.

There are four bonus features on the disc I'm watching including some stuff with Conan O'Brien's Triumph the Wonder Dog (who guest starred on two episodes) and some deleted scenes.

Real life guest stars so far have included the late Robert Goulet, the late John Ritter, and Goegr Wendt. (The show was filmed in 2000-2001 before either Robert or John was deceased.)

Otherwise, their appearances wouldn't have been very lively.     ;)

We really must get some postin' goin' on.  I'm listening to Henry Mancini's score to The Man Who Loved Women.  The film was almost a complete misfire from Blake Edwards (based on the very good Truffaut film), but the score by Mancini has some lovely melodies in it.  This is a new Varese Sarabande limited edition club title - a bit too much source music on it for my taste, and I'll probably put it into iTunes and leave those tracks off.

And then I'll finish watching a pretty charming and amusing motion picture, A Royal Scandal.

... all it would take to really effect change is two million people standing up and saying "I'm mad as hell and I'm not going to take it anymore" and then refusing to pay taxes.  Want to know how fast things would change?  Instantly.

BK's first white house scandal will, I assume, be George White's Scandals of 1932.

(Have we already done that one?)

I rewatched this some months ago, and it was a disappointment. Never could quite put my finger on what was wrong with it. Probably Burt Reynolds' work didn't quite have the right sly comedic quality or something, but it was a dud.

Guess I'll head down to clean the guest bath, put up the folded laundry, and then I'll get back to TV FUNHOUSE.

I do hope I'll be able to get to CLOVERFIELD on Blu-ray tonight. Once those Criterions come in )I hope) tomorrow, I'll have very little time this week for anything for fun on DVD, particularly since all these wonderful shows start back this week: THE CLOSER< PROJECT RUNWAY, PSYCH, MONK, plus, of course, BURN NOTICE's second episode of its new season.

I stopped on the way home from the pet shop to buy a strawberry-rhubarb pie.

Sadly, I discovered that my favorite place for such activities has closed.  The interior was stripped bare, and there was a "for lease" sign in the window.     :'(

I hate when that happens.

My new way to deal with relatives who insist on emailing me nonsense when I try to tell them all I'm too busy to deal with it....block them as junk!

My approach is to tell people my computer can't handle the megabites, or whatever it is.  I know Keith is always complaining this stuff takes up too much space.

What if you miss an important email?

And vice-versa.  Yes, let's all just stay in our shells and do nothing and continue on the road to destroying everything - the planet, the economy, and everything else.  Happily, I probably won't be around to see where all this complancency will lead.  A little anarchy and chaos is perhaps preferable to the ongoing stasis and inability of the elected leaders to do anything worthwhile because they are owned by interests outside of the public who voted them into office.  I am neither Democrat or Republican - I am the people's choice, baby.  Instant anarchy and chaos my butt cheeks - CHANGE.  I know it's frightening to a certain segment of our population, but it's necessary and necessary NOW.

How many here are voting for me?
