I began my afternoon of viewing with another BURN NOTICE. This was the one with Ayre Gross as the bureaucrat supposedly around to help Michael find out who burned him. Also is a kidnapped girl he and his team are trying to save. Excellent episode, one of the best of the season.

Keith's eye is very irritated, especially with the smoke blowing in from the California fires.  He had a post-op appointment this morning and the vision is his right eye is now better than 20/20, distance that is.  For close-up he needs to cover it and use the left eye to see.  For distance vision only, he prefers not to wear any glasses

Then I watched Jacques Tati's TRAFIC. Unquestionably the weakest of his four Hulot films. Yes, there are some funny set pieces, but I found myself waiting inordinately long periods of time for them amid a lot of set-ups that did not have payoffs. And the flow from sequence to sequence was also poor.

The first disc had the trailer and a couple of TV interviews done in the 1970s. One with Tati was in 1973 while one with four members of the cast was done in 1971 right after the film was released.

The second disc has a documentary by Tati's daughter on his career from music hall days to his international success with his Hulot films. I watched about a half hour of it and will finish it when I go downstairs. She's only just gotten to the first Hulot film.

I then skimmed through today's AS THE WORLD TURNS. No gay boys (not expected back until Friday), but I caught a glimpse of what appeared to be the back of Luke's head in the previews for tomorrow.

Looks like I will have time to watch something fun tonight. I think it'll be THE BOURNE SUPREMACY on HD-DVD. I've watched the first and third in HD-DVD and now have the second one left to see in that format.

This is Rothman here:  I've finally decided to indulge Bruce and do my own posting.
I sent Bruce 5 more names late last night, which he didn't post.  So I've taken matters into my own hands.  I'll do my own posting from now on, and anyone is free to address their posts to me or e-mail me:
JoJo Starbuck---Olympic and pro figure skater, once married to Terry Bradshaw

Joe Stabile----Jerry Lewis's long time manager, and brother of bandleader Dick

John Salley---pro basketball player (Detroit Pistons), then a talk show host on ESPN

Jack Sanford---Early 60's baseball pitcher

Joe Scandore---Don Rickles' long time manager

This is the last time I will post more than one name at a time.

I just saw the ratings for last night's THE CLOSER. Down from last year's premiere but still the highest rated season premiere for a basic cable scripted series this year. Nothing else comes close. VARIETY called the rating "solid if unspectacular."

Hey, DR The Vixter!  Nice to see you here - wonder if we'll get to see you and your mom in person in NYC when Richard and I are there Aug. 27-Sept 1?

Have you seen the new American Girl movie - Kit Kittridge?  Remember, she's my favorite AG because she lives in Cincinnati?

Thanks Ginny.  There really isn't much for me to do for him.  I can keep the dog hair off the sheets & lean down to pick things up for him.  His only other restriction, not lifting heavy objects, I cannot do.  In fact there are 40 pound bags of salt sitting in my trunk.  A friend will come over and put them in the water softener for us, no way am I lifting them, not unless it were an emergency.

Keith's eye patch makes me laugh every time I look at him, and he gives me these funny serious expressions.

Keith said Sherlock gave him a double take, kind of like Mo in the Three Stooges.

Going to drop off-line now to write for awhile before heading back down to finish the documentary on Tati and then find other viewing amusements for the evening.
