Back from what appears to have been my last appointment with the foot surgeon.  He says that the swelling of my foot is normal and that no longer wearing my funny shoe will help.  Well, that's fine and dandy, except the only other thing I can get on my left foot is a fuzzy slipper.  Won't that look cute with my work clothes on Monday?

Ginny-- enjoy it.  I'm actually permitted to dress like the old character I've become.

David alerted me to these outtakes from Bullshit!  At the beginning, Penn is introducing the clips and he says the most lovely thing about me.  Give it a looksee - there are two clips.

How great!  High praise indeed!

DR Ginny, did the doctor give you a time frame for when the swelling will be completely gone?  Is your "funny" shoe what you were given after the surgery?

Yes, DR Jane, the "funny" shoe has a big, hard sole that kept my foot from bending at the toes.  The doctor said that using my foot more normally now will actually help the swelling.  The good news is that Richard and I just came back from a quick dinner at the senior center up the street and I wore matching shoes!  I have a pair of ECCO sandals that have 3 straps across the top that fasten with velcro.  I'm able to fasten all but the middle one on my left foot.

Of course, now my foot hurts more than it has for several weeks.  Oh, well, everything's a trade-off and that's what Tylenol is for!

Somehow I have an image now of DR Ginny wearing "clown shoes".

Yes, Ginny, it's a puzzle: stay off it and go crazy, or exercise it and get sore.

I have the feeling that someone was addressing me!
I prefer to listen to Ms Peters singing MAMA ROSE than I do Ms LuPone.

I do enjoy the DVDs of Sunday and Woods with Ms Peters and the cast album of M & M.  I loathe her Song & Dance.

I can cope with Patti's "Evita", tolerate her "Old Woman" in "Candide" but nothing else.  Her Mrs Lovett is just so very "off".

DR Tomovoz - the post-surgery shoe was pretty clownish, but

HERE

is a picture of the shoes I'm now wearing.  Just can't fasten the middle strap on the left one.

DR Ginny, I'm not sure you should do too much walking in those shoes.  They are comfortable looking, and have a good amount of support for a sandal, however I believe a good running shoe with extra support might be better.  Of course I'm sure if you could fit into one you would.

Going all the way to New York with no pit stop in Kentucky, BK?  Ahh, I remember when you said you would be our first visitor.
He's never visited us here in Delaware, either.

We've been up to NYC several times to see him.

Oh, well.  C'est la vie.

I have always loved Karen Carpenter's version of DON'T CRY FOR ME, ARGENTINA.  However, I never thought the song quite worked in VELVITA, especially in the big balcony scene.  The words don't seem to make any sense to me.  Three or four of the other seven or eight times the song is used in the show seem to work better, such as her final broadcast.

I really like several of the JOSEPH songs, especially when sung by Jason Donovan.  My favorite ALW is still probably PHANTOM, and the song probably WISHING YOU WERE SOMEHOW HERE AGAIN, which I had done at my mother's funeral.

Liar!

That was a past life he experienced in the year 64 when he was the personal property of Nero, emperor of Rome.  Of course, Tomovoz (as we was then) wasn't properly used based upon all we've heard of Nero's "talents", but it's said that Nero strummed upon Tomovoz and sang "The Sack of Ilium" while Rome burned.

And, I didn't realize until just now that they're named after you!  No wonder I like them so much!

I suddenly realize I haven't watched "America's Got Talent" in the past two weeks.

That's "Big Brother 10" for ya!  :D

Based on what I heard from someone, I didn't miss a thing last week.

Obviously you learned from the past.  The birds are the blessings you get...and the reminders, as well, of what you left behind.
