YESTERDAY, TODAY, AND TOMORROW
« on: July 23, 2008, 12:31:07 AM »

Well, you've read the notes, the notes were so today with only a hint of yesterday and tomorrow, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - it will be very soon, perhaps even tomorrow.

RE: You tag line: "What am I, Ebert and Roeper all of a sudden?"

What are you going to write when Roeper leaves the show later in the year? (Ebert hasn't done the show in a long time)

Dear Esteemed BK:

Let's just suppose you don't have a deadline to face, or a project to pursue, that you have lots of time on your hands.  Where, other than any place in California or New York, would you like to go, just to go there?

How do you solve a problem like mosquitoes?

I am up at this horrible hour of the morning (east coasters subtract 3 hours, please) because I have "lately" been feasted upon with no fewer than seven strategic mosquito bites.

Strangely enough, I used "Off" before going to bed, spraying the very sections of my torso where I now have throbbing, itching bites.

This is the first summer since I moved here in 1993 that I've been bitten more than one time.  And it's the second time in a month that I've gotten out of bed to salve the itchiness and to reapply repellent.

I have scoured the condo looking for skeeter sign and have not yet found a one.  Of course, one  is all it takes.

Sigh.

Now I must get back into bed and attempt two more hours of sleep.

And I don't want to be mistaken for a dessert cart.

Ah...."besos"....just exactly what the skeeter was doing to me...before it pierced my flesh (at least seven times) and drank my blood.

We don't have many mosquitoes here because it is too dry; but the ones we do have are sick with West Nile.

Thanks. Motrin. And hopefully more sleep.

I sometimes get a bit of mental relief from applying a washcloth to my forehead/eyes -- soaked first in hot water and then wrung out before application.

Yes.  Here, too.  I'm hearing daily local news reports of this County or that one, or this city or that one, fogging for mosquitoes because one or two people were bitten by infected skeeters.

I don't hear, ever, anything about Oakland fogging for skeeters.  The more precautions I take, though, the more often I seem to get bitten.  We must have an "Off"-resistant variety of skeeters.

Fortunately, I suppose, this skeeter didn't bite around my eyes.

I won't be "hideous" when I get up in two hours.

At least, not moreso than normal.

I think I will set the heating pad on the "volcano" setting and go back to bed. Good night. Don't let the skeeters bite!
