I watched one more episode while I finished eating lunch: Judy Garland. Again, nothing new revealed (well, dancer Donna Mason did talk about Vincente Minnelli always taking time to put on lipstick and eye shadow before he came to the set. I had read that about him but had never heard anyone present ever really say it to a recording camera.)

Then I spent a LONG afternoon with NIXON. It's not that it's a bad film; it has, like most Oliver Stone movies, some great sequences, excellent performances, etc. but the man does NOT know the word OVERKILL. (And I popped over to the commentary during the credits where Stone was still talking and saying the film failed becuase people just didn't like being around Richard Nixon. He didn't know that ahead of time?)

I woke up with a sore throat, and my sinuses are free-flowing, which isn't good at all.

I'm hoping it's just another twist in the "allergy" syndrome cycle.

But who knows!!??

I had thought my problem was only allergies.  Vibes this is gone by tomorrow.

The Blu-ray is a two-disc set, so I have all of the bonus features to watch on the second disc tonight plus I'll have to go back and sample BOTH commentary tracks. I'm not sure who was on the second track.

I'm sure you guys will love the irony here, Michael Ausiello, spoiler of all things television on tvguide.com. :)

Btw, i never said DR SWW intentionally spoiled the winner. I just wanted to point out what happened, so maybe it wouldn't happen again. And it wasn't so much the spoiling that upset me, but the attitude afterward.

Anyhow I hope both DRs Jose and SWW feel better now.

My friend Margo, who I picked up from the airport last night, was visiting her sister in Minneapolis.  This weekend, they went to see the new Little House on the Prairie musical with Melissa Gilbert (TV's very own Laura Ingalls Wilder) playing Ma.  Margo said that the show was very good. :D

Pogue's list reflects most of my favorite westerns, although I'd add High Noon to it, along with Red River.  And I'm a big fan of Mr. McCrea, so I'll also add the B-western Wichita, which I'm very fond of.

DR Cilla, if we didn't have company arriving Saturday, we could have seen you in Chicago.

My heart will be in North Chicago on Friday when during Bryan's white coat ceremony.  I hear it is beautiful & moving.

I just hope I'm here and not in L.A.  Each day continues to bring some improvement with my DMIL.  She is very unhappy right now.

Which reminds me that Joel McCrea's western THE OKLAHOMAN (1957) is one of my favorites as is Jody McCrea's THE BROKEN LAND (1961) which also stars Diana Darrin and Jack Nicholson.

Speaking of spoiled, here's the article on Jerry Orbach's greedy son.

Not that I'm taking sides, mind you.

I don't think Chris Orbach's being greedy. I think his point is that his stepmother's not treating him and his brother fairly in the estate.

I would be upset if my parent didn't treat me equally.  Interesting, my father always said he would not remarry for this very reason.

Hello, y'all!

Just checking in briefly.  This afternoon was South Street Seaport, a Circle Line tour of the waterfalls, Eldridge Street synagogue and Guss's Pickles.

Tonight - who knows?  Perhaps just relaxing in the room.   :)

Margo said that she could...but didn't elaborate.  I don't doubt that she can sing.
