I watched DR Who solving the Agatha Christie disapperance last night. How delighfully silly.

I do wish they would issue "Agatha" on DVD.
Yes, "The Unicorn and the Wasp" was a good giggle.  Der Brucer and I loved all the titles that worked their way into the dialogue.

SPOILER FOR TOMOVOZ, who may want to skip this post, or not:

The phrase that the Doctor has repeated with each of his companions when they have tried to "speak" in the lingo of the times, "Don't do that," will come back again later in the season in an unexpected way.

And a very warm "Thank You" and "Bon Voyage" to the A Chorus Line Family at the Schoenfeld Theatre today.

"Love and Pain & The Whole Damn Thing" is still not available either.

Though maybe DR Elmore has a video with a similar title - or from yesterday's posts, perhaps DR George.

Thanks for the Spoiler line DR SWoody.

For me it is not usually a worry.  (Just don't say how "Six Foot Under" ends)

Der Brucer is (at long last) rousing from his slumbers.  So I should get cleaned up some, so that we can head on out for a repast.

Thanks again, to all!

Hopefully I'll be back later.

And I will be scorekeeping tomorrow!

That was a not a serious post but I did appreciate the DRs just speaking in generalities about those wonderful characters.  I think the New Year will be about time for me to view the whole series again. Also on my list for rewatching next year will be the delightful "Arrested Devolpment" and the so very sadly incomplete "Carnivale".

Well, it was recorded back in 2001 if that helps you with your record-checking.  ;)

That was during the period in which the New York Chorus and I were fighting; I may have not been paid since the New York Chorus does all the bookkeeping on NYCGMC arrangements.  As long as my name is spelled right, I'm content.

I did finish mowing the yard and cleared out a ton of brush, trees, weeds etc.  Good grief, I had no idea my yard was growing out of control while I was busy this summer.

Then I got a hair cut. I haven't been happy with my usual place so I just went to Cost Cutters and I love it, lol.  I've cleaned litter boxes and will soon be doing laundry

I'm contemplating writing a country song called "Litterboxes and Laundry Were the Story of Her Life".

Other movies I'm waiting for on DVD (I of course forget to check on them) are "Lili" and "Travels With My Aunt".

I really do not understand the hold-up on LILI. I reocrded a DVD-R off TCM (had the HVS, too, but the DVD-R looked better), and the transfer TCM uses (and the VHS tape, too) has blue flashes fairly often through the movie. Perhaps Warners is looking for a decent print to use for a master or perhaps they're giving it a thorough restoration and it's just taking time.

I'm really sleepy right now.  I have to figure out what I'm going to have for dinner.  Then it's fresh peaches and vanilla ice cream for dessert.  Yum!

Guess I'll head down now to clean the guest bath, put away the folded laundry, and then get back to Harry S. Truman.

We are back from a nice Sunday in Cincinnati.  At church this morning, Richard assisted as the substitute priest baptized his 3-year-old grandson.  Yes, Anglican priests can be married...

We then went to lunch at City Barbecue with Rob and Mary Linda and stopped at the grocery on the way home.  Now, we're chillin' and watching Olympics.  I'm literally chillin', sitting with a cold pack on my foot.  The mom of today's baptizee (is that a word?) is a nurse and has had the same foot surgery I had (but without the DVT complication).  I asked her if ice would help the swelling and she said, basically, "If it feels good, do it."  Remember that from the '60s?

Hey, Michael Barnum, while I was out and about today I came across a small South Asian/Indian street festival on 23rd Street and Madison Avenue. While I was tasting the samosas and other Indian treats I saw a man passing out DVDs. I took one and it turns out to be a promotional DVD for an upcoming movie, opening in New York City on September 12th.

The name of the movie is Loins of Punjab. It's put out by Horn OK Please Entertainment (you can't make this stuff up). The director is Manish Acharya. The stars are Shabana Azmi, Ajay Naidu, Ayesha Dharker and Darshan Jariwala.

Have you heard of this film or the director or the stars?

More importantly, do you want this promotional DVD? If you do, it's yours, I'll put it in the mail this week.

It says on the DVD that you can join the Bollywood Idol singing contest

There is also a Web site for the film Loins of Punjab

Sorry to encourage him Larry, but what am I going to do with this DVD  ;)

Agatha has been released - on a very nice German DVD for those with multi-region players.

I still have my old video of "Love and Pain".

1973 was my Maggie Smith year.  I saw "love and pain", "Travels" and her performances in "Private Lives" and "Peter Pan".

I am so tired!  Just got back from International day. It's turns out my brother-in-law's mother was serving food at the Filipino table (we found this out about 2 hours before the event).  And it turns out her sister made some of the food (her sister is a great cook!).

So even though i did stand in line at the table, his mom gave me a full spring roll (one of my favorite filipino treats).

The place is chaos. There were like 15 countries serving food: Greece, china, ghana, algeria, israel, philippines,  italy, sri lanka, poland and a few other. You had to line up. And then once you get a plate of food you go into another line. There was also dancing and music.
