I am listening to Drat! The Cat! And may I say that there is nothing finer than hearing Jason Graae sing "She Touched Me."

Hey, Michael Barnum, while I was out and about today I came across a small South Asian/Indian street festival on 23rd Street and Madison Avenue. While I was tasting the samosas and other Indian treats I saw a man passing out DVDs. I took one and it turns out to be a promotional DVD for an upcoming movie, opening in New York City on September 12th.

The name of the movie is Loins of Punjab. It's put out by Horn OK Please Entertainment (you can't make this stuff up). The director is Manish Acharya. The stars are Shabana Azmi, Ajay Naidu, Ayesha Dharker and Darshan Jariwala.

Have you heard of this film or the director or the stars?

More importantly, do you want this promotional DVD? If you do, it's yours, I'll put it in the mail this week.

It says on the DVD that you can join the Bollywood Idol singing contest

There is also a Web site for the film Loins of Punjab

Sounds like the title of one of elmore's videos!

Mmmm, that sounds so good!

Colorado peaches are in the grocery store right now.  A woman I don't know told me that they were the best and she waits for them every year.  (People I don't know always tell me things like that). Based on that recommendation I bought some and they are really good

DR Ben,
I would love to have the DVD! I know of Shabana Azmi as she was a very popular leading actress in the 1970s. She now does character roles and she works for many human rights organizations in her spare time.

She is quite a lady!

Shabana Azmi then...

and now.....

And since DR Ben has gotten me into the mood...here is another Bollywood subtitle...there is obviously some translations-gone-wrong here.

But the saris are sure purty!

Hey, you're talking to somebody from The Peach State! So I respectfully must correct you.

The best peaches come from...South Carolina!

I can see a representative from the NW. DR George. I think he is the only that posts from Washington State these days.

Good Evening!

Back from dinner at Joe's Inn - Bon Air - as opposed to the original Joe's Inn in The Fan.  In any case...

They had a couple of "Meal Salad Specials" tonight, and I gave one of them a try: The Rajun Cajun.  -Their spelling, not mine.  It was basically a blackened catfish filet atop a bed of iceberg lettuce.  However, the salad also included fried okra and "jalapeño bottlecaps" - which turned out to be breaded and deep-fried jalapeño pepper slices.  And, yes, they were spicy! Continuing with the hot and spicy theme, the dressing was Ranch Dressing spiked with Sriracha ("Rooster" Sauce).

Needless to say, I think I'm going to take a Tums or two before heading to bed tonight.

*One other interesting thing was how the catfish was listed in the menu description:  "blackened Pangasius".  I had never seen that before tonight.

Funny you should mention that!   At yesterday's gathering in Charlottesville, mention was made that South Carolina produces more peaches that Georgia does.

That was during the period in which the New York Chorus and I were fighting; I may have not been paid since the New York Chorus does all the bookkeeping on NYCGMC arrangements.  As long as my name is spelled right, I'm content.

Well... The recording in question was from the Gay Men's Chorus of Los Angeles, not New York City, so...  Did they loan out your arrangement?

*And, yes, your name is spelled correctly.

My DH says it's a good thing that the fingertip that was stung wasn't one of my 6 typing fingers/thumbs.

Anyone know anything about the NY Gilbert and Sullivan Players? They are coming to perform The Pirates of Penzance in Athens, GA. But I think the Carl Rosa company may be coming back to Atlanta with that, so...

Thoughts?

Finished watching The Inglorious Bastards.  I'm now watching a "conversation" between Quentin Tarantino, who's doing a new version of the film, and the Eyetalian gent who made the film.  The first ten minutes cannot be described as a conversation since Mr. Tarantino never shuts the HELL up.  If there is a homelier, more obnxious human being than Mr. Tarantino, I haven't seen him.

I've seen a couple of clips and it looks like it should be subtitled The Trashman Cometh. I don't think I'll be able to sit through the credits for that one. Why, why, why???

Oh, I forgot to mention that I completely miscalculated my run route - I drove it the other day and it looked like I had to run to a certain street for it to be two miles and two miles back.  However, even then I thought it seemed way too long, and when I drove it today after running it what did I find?  I found I ran five miles instead of the four I've been doing for the entire week.  No wonder I thought I was going to expire on the last mile - I did it, but I don't need to do it again - I now know exactly where the two mile mark is.
