And now Greetings from my quite spacious and roomy room at my hotel. -Although the way this hotel is set up, all the rooms are spacious and roomy.   Not that I've been in all of them, that is.

Thanks, DR FJL - Actually my DL can still be used for a year. They will just keep reminding/nagging me about it. In the meantime, I'll be sure to bring my passport with me when I travel.

I inspected a packet of Jelly Bellys at the store - didn't buy them, though.

But I actually wrote down the flavor assortment to share with all you DRs:

Skunk Spray
Rotten Egg
Ear Wax
Booger
Baby Wipes
Pencil Shavings
Toothpaste
Vomit
Moldy Cheese
Black Pepper.

Yum!!

And if this keeps up - the Gulf Coast could be in for it again.

You could write "Grant Basics - the Musical"

Or publish a calendar of nude librarians

LOL!  When Calendar Girls was released, my coworkers and I had great fun planning a librarian calendar, each of us deciding which "coffee table" book we would use as our cover, and where.

Ah! The new assortment of Harry Potter beans must be out. -I actually like some of those flavors. -The Black Pepper ones have real black pepper in them, and I keep waiting for them to show up on "Iron Chef". ;)

Yes, the meeting went even better than I expected on Tuesday.  My mouth was dry and my palms were sweaty, but I've recovered and feel quite comfortable with the decision.  Shock waves continue to reverberate throughout my "sphere of influence," though.

DR elmore - So did you at least call your doctor this morning to see exactly when and how often you should test your blood sugar level?  **You're covering the plane ticket - First Class! - if you need me to fly back to NYC early!  :P

I cannot figure how to fit it over my hand!

Maybe you're supposed to wear it on another appendage entirely.

As long as it doesn't interfere with the VCR.

And speaking of blood sugar levels, I really do need to head out and get some lunch, especially since I didn't have much of a breakfast. So...

That is good. Now if you start acting strange (due to a sudden drop in blood sugar), people will know why.

At least 4 times a day for testing blood sugar, or two hours after each meal...or more.

What good is testing if elmore doesn't know how to interpret the results; and lacking an interpretation, how can he adjust his food intake correctly?

DR Druxy,

I noticed that you are responsible for bringing Roger Corman to the next Ray Court's show? How wonderful! Perhaps I missed it, but do you still work as a publicist?

Also, you had mentioned Diana Darrin was one of your first, who were some of the others that you represented back in the day? I am most curious!

I haven't worked as a publicist for 15-20 years.  I decided that I just wanted to write, and working almost exclusively for Mr. Corman gave me a very nice living for many years.

Frankly, I go to these autograph shows with former clients (Steve Kanaly, Michael Ansara, Diane McBain, Bridget Hanley, the late Dan O'Herlihy) and friends because writing is a lonely business and this activity let's me get "back in the action," so to speak.  It also gives me the opportunity to see old friends who I haven't seen in years.

Other clients?

The list is SOOO long.  In no particular order:  Christine Lahti, Barbara Hershey, John Williams, Ernest Gold, Henry Darrow, Paul Francis Webster and Sammy Fain, Abe Vigoda, Pat Harrington, Maurice Jarre, Gale Gordon, Jack Carter, Jessica Walter, Conchata Ferrell, John Russell, Edward Dmytryk, Howard Keel, Kathryn Grayson, George Sherman, etc., etc.

No, we think you have two kinds of bacon, strip and peameal.
We refer to the later as Canadian Bacon.
Canadian Bacon is generally round in shape, not a strip, slices of which fit nicely on a toasted English muffin.

der Brucer

I know that what you call canadian bacon is the round thing that is like ham.

My point is that i live in montreal. And i have never seen or heard of it here.
And i would be surprised if many canadians knew what it was. Unless it's a regional thing that i am not aware of.
