Is Freddy after food like my cat was?  LOL-my cat never did that again.  Maybe you don’t leave Freddy in long enough.  That cat was also exceptionally smart, opened door and cupboards and found all sorts of clever ways to get into food, until he got too fat.  He even use to try to steal food out of our mouths and bit Craig’s tongue once.

Thanks Jane, put it was really a win/win situation.  I was either going to have the SUV or I was going to be able to pay some bills off that I originally planned on doing before this "deal" came about.  

May I just inform you that Nicole Kidman was never going to do The Producers.  It was all publicity hype - she never signed to do it, or she would not be able to walk away now.

As for the radio show, you can't "save" it to your hard drive or download it.  It's streaming audio, which means that it's being broadcast live and you just pick it up through your computer like a regular radio broadcast.  What happens is that I have a program that's kind of like a tape recorder and it records what is played over the Internet.  It creates a big giant .wav computer file and after it's recorded, I have to manually edit it.  With last night's three-hour show, I had seven different files that added up to almost 2 Gigabyes in size!  I still have to chop them up even more to make individual tracks on the final CDs.

Yikes!  Sounds to complex for me!  I do have 197 GB free space on my hard drive so I think I could do it.  

DR Danise - I for one am relieved you didn't get the Explorer. They're not very good cars and they're downright dangerous. And gas guzzlers. And they don't brake well. Remember a few years ago when they were being recalled left and right? I was going to post something yesterday, but you seemed to want it so much, I thought I would stay out of it. You're a grown-up, you know what you're doing. I had an Explorer for years and I couldn't stand it. I was married and living in LA when we first got it, then was stuck with it in Boulder after I was divorced. It was leased and I counted the days until the lease was up. In fact, I gave it up a few months early just to be rid of it. Yuck.
If any DRs have Explorers, the editorail comment is mine and mine alone. May I repeat - Explorer - Yuck! IMHO.

I like a big vehicle.  If you guys could see the thing I’m driving right now, you would get a real chuckle.  I don’t call it the “A-team” van lightly.  

It’s a 1985 Ford Econoline cargo van.  It’s perfect for the dogs and
for moving things around but I wanted something a little less---attention getting for when I go to off site meetings at work.

An example was just the other day when I had Jury Duty.  When I went to pull in to the parking garage, the guy on duty asked me if I had ever parked in that garage before because he wasn't sure it would fit.  It did scape the top a few times but was ok.  Barely.

The problem is that I'm so used to driving high with the van and riding the bus that I don’t honestly think I could go back to a car.  I feel very nervous when I’m in one.  It feels like I’m skimming the ground.  

 

Yesterday, someone said they could not access The Full Report daily posts - I have no problem accessing it and so I don't really know what the problem was or is.

BK, I tried The Full Report and had no trouble, either.  But I noticed that THE HUNGARIAN IN THE CLOSET and PACKED TO THE GILLS are not locked!  Someone could still post in them.  Just thought I'd let you know.

                SUGGESTIONS REQUESTED

   There is not a site on the Internet which has a nicer bunch of people who also happen to know a LOT about movies. With that in mind, DRs, I would like suggestions for films to see which take place around 1774-75-76. I'm writing an opus which takes place around those years in Williamsburg and I'm curious to see how other screenwriters handled the language. I would think it has to be a bit of a cheat - suggesting how they spoke in Colonial days, but not exactly replicating it.
(BTW - I've already asked one person who shall remain nameless
- bk - Oops did I say that? - and his answer was "I don't believe they were making movies back then." ...So don't try answering that way!)

Try tracking down the Kingsley play, though.  I bet it will help.
